But there is one glaring issue that will drive me to look elsewhere and that is the inability to run sequences when app is running in the background. I use a single iPad to both mix and run lights. I pop back and forth to change scenes as needed but I really need the sequences to continue to run while I’m mixing. Developers, please add this capability!! The fixture profiles are very limited and only includes older discontinued fixtures. I have to make my own profile for just about every single light I own. With Luminair charging for subscriptions, folks who need something good but simple have very few good options (I only have 4 lights). I tried StageLight, Photon 1 and 2, Luminair, and ended up setting up QLC+ on my Mac after being disappointed with the iOS choices. Then I saw Vibrio… with it’s easy to set up sequences, scenes, and presets, not to mention MIDI CONTROL (HUGE). Vibrio is an economical yet robust DMX light controller. I am using with a Netgear wireless router and eDMX 1 PRO by dmxking. Everything was pretty much plug and play. The only hiccup was figuring out how to set up the channels for my lights. Once I got that figured out the fun really began. Scenes are a breeze to create and multiple scenes can be layered. Response between app and lights is instantaneous with no lag. I have not tried the midi feature yet so cannot comment on that. Sequences bring automation and life to the show. The greatest feature is having the ability to operate the lights from anywhere within range of my WiFi signal. I'm using it with the DMXKing eDMX1 Pro and it has been rock solid and smooth. Touch response is instantaneous via wifi, you can easily create custom fixtures, and scenes and sequences are easy to create. Very powerful and simple at the same time.
