Main Features:
• Live incident map showing current warnings, planned burns and other types of incidents across Victoria.***
• Simple to create a profile and use watch zones that ensure you get official warnings for your local area. Warnings and information* are pushed out to a user's phone when issued by Victoria’s emergency services.
• GPS integration to determine your current location** and surrounding incidents.
• Emergency Warnings, Warnings, Advice and information as issued by Victoria’s emergency services
• Share incidents and warnings with friends and family.
• View forecast Fire Danger Ratings on the map.
• View today's and tomorrow’s Total Fire Ban status.

* Your device must have an internet connection to receive warnings and information issued by Victorian emergency services.
** To view your current location, GPS must be switched on and location functionality enabled.
*** Map symbols represent the origin of the emergency, not its current location or spread.

The VicEmergency app is just one tool to assist you to access warnings and information about emergencies, however you should never rely on just one information channel. Emergency services use a range of other information channels including SKY TV, ABC local radio, some commercial and designated community radio stations, VicEmergency Hotline on 1800 226 226, VicEmergency website on www.emergency.vic.gov.au and VicEmergency Twitter and Facebook.

Are you getting a message asking you to turn on notifications? You need to ensure that push notifications are enabled specifically for the VicEmergency app, as follows:

For iOS10, iOS9, iOS8 and iOS6:
1. Click on the Settings icon and then select Notifications.
2. Scroll down, click the VicEmergency icon
3. Ensure 'Allow Notifications" or "Notification Centre" (iOS6) at top of the screen is set to On.
4. We recommend that you set Alert Style as 'Banners' or Alerts' and ensure that Sounds and "Show on Lock Screen" or "View in Lock Screen" (iOS6) are set to On.

For iOS7:
1. Open the device's Settings icon and then select 'Notification Center'.
2. Under 'Access on Lock Screen', check that 'Notifications View' is On (showing as green).
3. Scroll further down and ensure that VicEmergency is in the list under INCLUDE. Click it to open it.
4. At the top, set Alert Style as 'Banners' or Alerts'
5. Then ensure that everything in this section is turned On - ‘Badge App Icon’, ‘Sounds’, 'Show in Notification Center', 'Show on Lock Screen’, etc (all should be showing as green).

VIC app

This once useful app has become a USELESS app that will no longer load on my iPhone fix it please as it used to be a safety tool but not any more . Have tried deleting and reinstalling, nothing works

Vital app + an improvement suggestion

This is a vital app. Thank you for providing it. One improvement suggestion - can you please include the ability to apply more than one filter in the map settings in a watch zone? For example, it would be really useful for firefighting purposes to be able to show both Impact Areas and Wind Direction and speed at the same time (at the moment you have to choose one or the other and flick between them.)

A live satellite would really help

Why’s it so hard to watch my burning property that iam not near so hard to watch my cattle and house ,burn to the ground I can’t get there and I have no idea what’s going on there !

Not user friendly

You need to involve the users in the development of this App

App does not work anymore

Have an Apple ph does not open blank page with icons only . Always worked before . Deleting and reinstalling does not work . How many neg reviews till this is fixed .

White out

The app continually stops responding and displays a white page with logos of the service organisations that presumably contribute information to the database. Recommended reset worked intermittently but eventually failed. It became unusable.

No way to opt out of massive area watch zone

Tired of getting thunderstorm warnings at all hours for areas hundreds of km away because the developers are obtuse and won't listen to feedback. I have a 1km watch zone to avoid exactly this, yet it doesn't matter. Done with it and deleted the app. Waste of taxpayer money.

Frustrating

I do find this app helpful and useful when it works. Recently it doesn’t open. There is nothing more frustrating when an alert goes off and the app won’t open. Thankfully I haven’t been in any situations where the app has been urgently needed…yet.

App will not open on IPhone txt

App was on phone working fine Now will not open or work. Have re-downloaded app still didn’t work.

Antiquated

Won’t load deleted it and just loads the same dud version. Yet I keep getting notifications on mass.
