Does the job!

Easy to use, does the job. It's great that you can use it via a shortcut in Safari. I do wish the Find option wasn't hidden in the share menu though.

Not good

TEAMDOJO on

Can't search for text within source codes and source codes doesn't have colours or proper indentation. Hard to read because it's very messy!

works + action from browser

The app works well for exactly what it says - viewing the source from a website. In the app you can input a URL, but directly from the browser (Safari) you have a new “action” to open the page’s source.

Unreliable search

The search function is clunky and unreliable. Among other things. Okay for taking a quick look at some source code.

Shows HTML source, but not from the current Safari page

This tool allows you to select View Source from the Share Sheet in Safari on iPhone/iPad. It will pass the URL along to the View Source app, but it’s making a separate request and will fail to give you the actual page you’re viewing in Safari if that page normally requres authoriztion - like a web mail / gmail, portal or any page that requires a login. So that makes this far less useful. It would be nice if it could dump the current Safari HTML document buffer as HTML, but it doesn’t do that.

Helpful lil free app

Ok may require a little initial troubleshooting, but works great after that. Had to do a phone restart & closing out of the app & Safari and then reopening them a few times, but I got the View Source action to show up in Safari for me. So you can open up the app that way when browsing or you can copy paste the url into the app. I don’t know what that other reviewer was talking about w not being able to copy the text from it. Maybe they weren’t familiar with using ios’s built in copy paste menu & they wanted a separate button. ANYWAYS you can definitely copy the text. And it has a Find feature too; it’s found thru a menu option. Thank you for making this, developer!

Is it just my device? Or is everyone else having issues copying data? This app is a necessity for me, but unfortunately I am no longer able to copy text within the source code. Does anyone by any chance have a workaround to copy text?

Works well, continues to work

I have not found another app that does with this one does and/or does as well as this one. The author apparently has not updated it in years, but it still continues to work.

Simple and does what it says

Kind of refreshing to have an app that just does what you need. Cool and thanks. As far as the one star review that claims they can cut and paste, well it’s called View Source for a reason. And it’s free. I also think the developer might open a can of legal issues if they allowed all that functionality. Oh and it’s free!
