We have had the holiday of a lifetime and Trailfinders put together an itinerary that was very involved but worked perfectly at every stage. From the time we flew from Heathrow to San Diego and then a few days later from San Diego to Denver to pick up the Rocky Mountaineer train to take the two day trip to Moab. We were booked on every flight with our seats already allotted. The Crawford Hotel in Denver was excellent and we would go there again. The train ride was fantastic with first class service all the way through and impeccable service and refreshments and nothing was too much trouble for the staff and we were kept informed about everything we were seeing from the train. After a stop off in Moab, we had a hire car to Salt Lake City and the flight back to San Diego and again we had no hold-ups at the airport and they knew we were booked in. I can’t wait to use Trailfinders again for our next adventure!

Used to be a great app but now I am having issues with viewing my itinerary. It keeps taking me back to the log in page. No other way for me to view the itinerary so making it very difficult to book.

Brilliant trip although 13-14hrs on a plane in economy is getting harder. Very clean, disciplined, lots of protocols and very friendly. (No tipping either) Spent 5 nights in Tokyo - do the research before you go so you can maximise your adventure in one particular area at a time. Consider the Go karting ( it’s mad but a great laugh) also a 3 hour bike trip on electric bikes although most areas are flat and it’s not too strenuous. Stayed at the Mecure in Gina a cheaper hotel than most but nevertheless a good hotel being central to a lot of sites. Would stay there again. Shimbuya and Shinjuku are a lot busier and great to visit. Hakone was a great place to go, away from the big city. Nice cafe just across from the station (Timuny) run by very friendly locals. Limited selection but nevertheless traditional. We were able to use the three day pass to travel all around. Including going to the sulphur mountain and having great views of Mt Fuji. Then cable car down to lake Ashi and onto the pirate looking ship. This is a whole day trip from Hakone to see and use all the transport and not rush. But go before 10am. Well worth it. A couple of stops in the other direction is Asaka Castle also worth a trip if you have time. Shinkansen (bullet train) back to Yokohama BUT Shin Yokohama so don’t get the two muddled if catching a cruise from Yokohama. You need another train, bus or taxi to the cruise area. Yokohama has a ferris wheel, China town and some lovely walks near the cruise terminal. I wished we had spent more than one day there. The WiFi box provided by Trailfinders was very useful for getting around. Most of the trains have English signs and announcements in English even on board. Each station also is numbered so another method to follow. We went on a cruise from Yokohama and I wished we had kept hold of the WiFi box as this would have been useful at the cruise locations around Japan. Trailfinders were very good providing all the travel info we needed. I will be using them again for any long distant trip I make in the future.
