## Vinegar Description
Vinegar is a Safari extension that replaces the YouTube player with a minimal HTML video tag.

It removes ads, restores picture-in-picture, and allows videos to play in the background when set to audio-only quality.

Note: The phrase 'can read and alter webpages' in the permissions section is just an unfortunate choice of words. Vinegar needs access to the webpage to find the YouTube player and replace it. It's not doing anything creepy!

(Also, do check out Vinegar's companion app, Baking Soda. It's essentially a less powerful version of Vinegar, but it works on all websites except YouTube.)

So yeah, you can’t (at least I haven’t found out how to) change video quality to 4K. But the ability to watch videos uninterruptedly makes up for that big time! On my iPhone I never experience issues, but once in a while on my iPad I have to reload a YT page. This happens mostly in playlists.

Grote teleurstelling. Het werkt averechts. Er is met Vinegar meer reclame! Bovendien kun je met Vinegar het geluid van de reclame niet meer uitzetten, wat het nog erger maakt. Extra vervelend is dat je met Vinegar de You Tube film niet meer kan redigeren, je kunt hem niet meer full screen zetten, niet meer pauzeren, niets.
Vervolgens kun je Vinegar niet meer verwijderen, want die button werkt niet. Kortom, weggegooid geld en extra frustratie.

YouTube video's stay stuck on loading screen. If it works the control bar is constantly hidden and disappears after one click. Video's start without sound. Sound gets randomly disabled. Etc.

So I love the app and know YouTube is changing constantly hence the 4 star , but after last couple of updates, whenever watching a video, throws a black screen when an ad is placed, moves back to the beginning of the video and gets stuck there. Using v2.6.9 on both iPhone and iPad.

Terrible.
Since I installed the extension, youtube was constantly interrupted. 
Probably because Vinegar tries to block the advertisment. 
Anyway, the youtube-movies constantly freeze.
So even with advertisements, it's better watching.
Deleted Vinegar, and my €2,- is down the drain. 
So, do not purchase!
