## Vinegar Description
Vinegar is a Safari extension that replaces the YouTube player with a minimal HTML video tag.

It removes ads, restores picture-in-picture, and allows videos to play in the background when set to audio-only quality.

Note: The phrase 'can read and alter webpages' in the permissions section is just an unfortunate choice of words. Vinegar needs access to the webpage to find the YouTube player and replace it. It's not doing anything creepy!

(Also, do check out Vinegar's companion app, Baking Soda. It's essentially a less powerful version of Vinegar, but it works on all websites except YouTube.)

The only advantages of the app is that if there’s an ad at the beggining the video doesn’t reproduce and that you avoid the ads inside the video. You have to refresh the page until there is no ad. It doesn’t save the timestamp either.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work for me. Not only does it sometimes show me ads but the WHOLE ad so I can't even skip it after 5 seconds. I wish it worked or someone could give me a hand. I have two icons on safari next to the address bar but with no practical use. Am I doing something wrong or is there a bug?

This extension used to work intermittently, but now it's nearly perfect. The one missing star is because I miss the mini player feature on YouTube (the one that allowed you to watch videos in a small window at the bottom left corner of the screen while browsing YouTube; I'm unsure if it's feasible to include this).

Es una de las mejores compras que podéis realizar. La extensión sirve para ver YouTube con PiP, evitar anuncios, y tener una reproducción mejor integrada con iOS. Sabed que YouTube está tratando de deshabilitarla, así que si ocurren errores en el futuro, tened presente que esta es una app mantenida por un solo desarrollador, y hace lo que puede para mantenerla en funcionamiento. Hoy por hoy es la única que está esquivando los anuncios, mientras los ad-blockers tradicionales están fallando.

This is one of the best purchases you can make. The extension allows you to watch YouTube with PiP, avoiding a(d)nnoyances, and on a well integrated player for iOS. Know that YouTube is trying to make the app useless, so if eventually you experience any issue, please keep in mind this is a one-dev app, and he does what he can in order to circumvent YouTube’s countermeasures and keep it working. Right now it is the only extension that is being effective against the a(d)nnoyances, while other known blockers are failing. (I’m Chris)

I have been testing the application for a day and I must say that it works wonderfully on my iPhone 13. It is worth paying what the app costs.

However, on my MacBook with M1Pro chip and Ventura OS it has some bugs so I can't use it properly. It would be nice to review the app. For now I will keep it on my iPhone which is a plus yes or yes.
