## Vinegar Description
Vinegar is a Safari extension that replaces the YouTube player with a minimal HTML video tag.

It removes ads, restores picture-in-picture, and allows videos to play in the background when set to audio-only quality.

Note: The phrase 'can read and alter webpages' in the permissions section is just an unfortunate choice of words. Vinegar needs access to the webpage to find the YouTube player and replace it. It's not doing anything creepy!

(Also, do check out Vinegar's companion app, Baking Soda. It's essentially a less powerful version of Vinegar, but it works on all websites except YouTube.)

Enables me to use YouTube with the original html and block ads however it seems to stop working whenever I connect my Surfshark vpn which becomes and increasingly annoying problem as I use it for secure browsing. If this was fixed would be a perfect app. Thank you

This module is laggy and buggy with YouTube. Sometimes it just doesn’t pop up, often the case I have to press play twice and honestly it’s just not great

Keeps reloading randomly whilst playing the video, it also doesn’t seem to retain memory of where you left off a video, or at least is unreliable in doing so, so often you’ll go back to a video you’ve already watched a portion of the way through and instead of picking up where you left off it will start from the beginning. More recently as aforementioned it will just decide to go into a loop, reloading the video from the beginning when you hit a certain random point in the video, as if there’s an unrecoverable error and it just restarts.. Please fix these issues!

Used for years, always worked a charm. I know YouTube are currently fighting ad blockers, app is working stably 70% of the time but occasionally am hitting an error where the YouTube video will play 3 seconds and then loop again, nothing I have tried has preventing this unfortunately
