How it works!
It’s as simple as reading the eye chart at the doctor’s office—but on your phone. You just need your eyeballs, your glasses or contacts, and your phone.
1. We’ll guide you through a simple (but thorough) eligibility quiz to make sure the app is a good fit for you.
2. If you’re eligible, the app takes you through an equally simple vision test. You'll need to complete it in a quiet, well-lit spot where you have about 10 feet of space.
3. In about 48 hours, an eye doctor will assess your results. If they determine that you're still seeing well out of your current prescription, then the doctor may renew it and you'll pay the $15, or more, if you have multiple prescriptions.
FYI: Virtual Vision Test by Warby Parker is not a comprehensive eye exam and it isn’t meant to replace visits to your eye doctor. It’s important to get your eye health examined periodically, even if you aren’t experiencing any vision problems, so please follow the advice of your doctor. Good to keep those peepers in check.

Just want vision test
Just wanted to do a vision test. App won’t let you without going through a bunch of stuff for ordering glasses and knowing your location etc. I just want to try the test.
Told me I needed an in-person exam…
Denied my prescription renewal, told me I needed an in-person exam. I went to the 1-800-Contacts Online Eye Exam and got my prescription renewed no problem. So, if Warby tells you that you need an in-person exam, try 1-800-Contacts exam for your contact lens renewal!
Scam
Absolute scam. Last time I use warby Parker, 15 dollars for a 5 second thing to just get my glasses unscratched that I got last year… absurd
Easy, but iPhone only
Process was really easy, but if I didn’t have a second phone for work (iPhone), I wouldn’t have been able to do this as I operate primarily on Android. Please make this more accessible for everyone.
Amazing Use of Technology 👩🏽💻
Warby Parker is the optometrist for millennials! I had difficulty calibrating my distance but otherwise it was quick and efficient.
Go with a different provider
Warby Parker will only renew for the brand you tell them you have and for their own brand. ExpressExam with 1800contacts will have the ophthamologist write a script for the multiple brands they think will work for you.
Never got past step back from camera
Got to the point where it said to step back. It NEVER indicated I was far enough away or even gave me a distance measurement other than 0 feet away. App Store said this app WAS compatible with my iPad
As it should be
This app alone makes me a Warby customer for life. I dropped my glasses and scratched them, Warby made it so I could get an Rx without an annoying appointment or irritating up sells.
VISION TEST DOESN’T GET REVIEWED
I was so excited to see Warby Parker had this app available for prescription renewal. The test was quick and easy but the problem is that no doctor ever looks at it. I submitted my test on 2/25/2024 and have yet to hear back from a doctor despite a promise of results in roughly 48hrs. I can understand some delay but after a week, I contacted customer service who didn’t understand my concern and just said to keep waiting. It’s been almost another week at this point and looking like I’ll be going in to an eye doctor instead for renewal.
