Best video player ever

Free and open source. I really love that it continue playing where I left of in each video after I close the app. Besides that, the fact that it uses Files to detect the video is the most efficient way to import bulk videos in my humble opinion. And, it has equilizer.

Amazing but buggy

I love the app but starting a video/audio file has a 1-2 second hiccup before playing audio. It isn’t an issue with videos but with my music it’s annoying

2 years on: Still doesnt login to Windows SMB, other apps can

VLC iPad app keeps giving me the dialog box "SMB Authentication required" when trying to connect to files shared on Windows 11 24H2 PC (didnt work on prev Win10/11 versions either). Can login using same credentials successfully on other media player apps on my iPad -- ofcourse none of them play video as good as VLC would. WORKAROUND: In VLC app I go to Network-> Local Files instead and then use the native Files app to login to the Windows SMB perfectly fine. If I tap on any network shared video file from there, the VLC app streams it much better than other apps, especially the instant seek feature. This bug has also been reported by other users on Reddit r/VLC 2 years ago. Such a nice video player. SHAME this is still not fixed! :(

Very good app. A couple minor problems.

Hello, VideoLan. This app is amazing! It can play MP3s, MP4s, and M4As seamlessly. It can play music, videos, even movies. And music can be very relaxing indeed. Everything about this app and the content it can play, especially locally downloaded content on loop, is amazing. You have made so many fixes, and this is my go-to media player now besides Apple Music. I am experiencing a very rare problem though on iOS where I’ll get a random “Playback Failed” error for unknown reasons when my phone is in sleep mode or when the app is minimized, and this issue happens both with and without background refresh. The problem is it’s impossible for me to sleep without music because of episodic cranial sensory shock (exploding head syndrome, causes loud hallucinatory bang, sometimes flash, with mild, nonpainful, although unpleasant piercing sensation in the center of my forehead while drifting off to sleep, while sleeping, or while dreaming). Furthermore, sometimes there’s a glitch with the pitch where sometimes it randomly gets too high or too low. I’m very happy with how well this app works. I have far more positive experiences that I listed than negative experiences. But can you please fix the pitch glitch and try to fix the playback failed problem? Thank you very much. I know you are trying your best, I appreciate the effort, and I’m glad that I have a go-to favorite media app because it works so well overall.
