It can play all your movies, shows and music in most formats directly without conversion.
It allows file synchronization with Dropbox, GDrive, OneDrive, Box, iCloud Drive, iTunes, direct downloads and through Wi-Fi sharing as well as streaming from SMB, FTP, SFTP, NFS, UPnP/DLNA media servers and the web.
VLC offers support for advanced subtitles including full SSA compatibility, multi-track audio, playback speed control and rendering through Chromecast.

I prefer apps like VLC and Owl Files for playing back media over Apple Music now days because I can freely move around the files in the files app without having to connect to a computer. My library still lives on a computer, so this is best for me. But VLC will skip like the first second of playback on my device for every track, which is extremely annoying. It’s not always that way. If that was patched, this app would be perfect. I’ve also previously had issues with files not showing up in my library. That’s why I sometimes bounce over to Owl Files, but it has problems on its own, including the lack of playlists unless you pay, and album artwork sometimes missing.

Hey! There is this issue with subtitles, that they get cut away (only upper half appears on the screen) when the aspect ratio is “crop to fill” could please be kind enough to look into it. 
The device is iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The subtitle Settings in this app are very limited. 
You cannot change the opacity, the vertical alignment or putting a background and more.

Why not just use the subtitle styles set in the iPhone settings app? ( Accessibility -> Subtitles), or do something smiler to what is found in infuse?

i mean its good for something on the app store, cus its free. problem: i have  a playlist and i can set it to be order alphabetically, but it will start on the 2nd song and go down to the 4, 6, 8, etc until it starts on 3, 5, 7, etc. and the last one to play is 1? Idk why that’s messed up, but it wasn’t last year and that kinda pisses me off.

Second time now that the app has bricked itself. I make a lot of playlists but that should be normal use. Last time i deleted and restarted my playlists. I tried again thinking that I would be able to restart the settings if it happened again. Last time it just crashed upon song selection. For features: I would love a “like” button with an automatic playlist that updates as i like media.

Overall I like VLC, but have noticed that while playing a song (doesn’t matter if it’s MP3 or M4A) it will cut off the first second of the song and then play normally. I’d like to replace the stock Apple Music app but this issue is annoying enough that it prevents me from fully using it as my music player.
