Bought this to controll VLC on a Mac mini on my TV. The only way to make it work is to use the mouse to wake the computer, so why not just use your mouse in the first place. Nothing like or as good as the remote that controls iTunes, this one wakes the computer. Waste of cash.

To help others....
Mapped drive wouldn't show up in VLC Remote until I did a reboot on my PC, now everything works like a dream! All external drives and NAS need to be assigned a drive letter to show in VLC remote, search google for 'how to map external drive'
