There are a huge number of movie formats, and VLC can convert most of them - but it can't convert everything. If you have any doubts, then please try the free version of this application first.

Does not work
This player is always crashing
Great software
does everything it says it does ... Would be perfect if it could stream music aswell.
It' good with some bugs.
Sometimes it has a hard time finding my computer.
Mjög þægilegt app
Fyrir ykkur sem eru að nota 16gb iPad (eins og ég) þá er þetta mjög hentugt app. Með þessu appi get horft á næstum hvaða video sem er úr borðtölvunni minni í gegnum stream. Því þarftu eiginlega aldrei að vera með video í iPadinum sjálfum, svo lengi sem þú ert bara að horfa á videoið heima hjá þér.
Badly needs an update
Now just crashes on open, nothing I can do, reinstalling didn’t work.
In My Humble Opinion
Need to be able to adjust font size
Takes forever to convert video files
I’ve been waiting 2-3 hours already to convert the videos on my laptop so I can play them on my iPad.
Cannot load files or open them
This vlc is inscrutable on the ipad. I see none of the menus shown in the windows version. I cannot open files if i want to, unless the playvlc comes up for some for some reason i cannot figure out.
Still the best, if sometimes flawed
This is the best streaming app in terms of functionality I’ve found on iPhone. GoodPlayer, “real” VLC, etc have interesting features and potentially easier setup but get bogged down with weird buffering problems, or bizarre interface choices. VLC streamer works way more often than others and it has great interface customization Search can be a bit iffy if your library gets large, but the tagging system is solid. Would love to see search work with larger libraries (or for the keyboard to dismiss reliably) but again it’s a trivial problem. The need to preprocess videos is a small price for them to reliably work on the phone and the access control via a simple password is helpful. Bottom line: it works!
