There are a huge number of movie formats, and VLC can convert most of them - but it can't convert everything. If you have any doubts, then please try the free version of this application first.

Great app, but some bugs
From time to time the app won’t airplay from my iPhone 12 on iOS 14.6 to my Apple TV 3rd gen, software version 7.8. Not sure if this is because phones new compared to the tv. I can’t remember what seems to bork it, but the only way to fix it is to reinstall the app.
Great app which has gone down hill after last update
You know when I first bought this app it was the perfect solution. I have all my blu rays transferred to my pc and this app allowed me to watch all my movies remotely on my phone. But since the last update 95% of my films are now totally unwatchable, I have no idea what happened in that last update but when I now play my movies then there is something that must go wrong during the conversion process as the picture goes (as best I can describe it) blurry every 5 to 10 secs the movie is played, leaving all my movies unwatchable. Really disappointed as I really enjoyed this app.
Pity this app doesn’t cast to my TV
Or at least when you select okay in VLC player allow that to cast as it normally is able to do.
it’s great but...
it doesn’t go straight to films, if the page was put in settings and show list of your movies that would be better
Takes forever to convert
Well........
Now features black screen after a few minutes
This app used to be rock solid, but recently it is very hit and miss. Most video conversions only run true for 8 to 10 minutes, after which all you get is the sound and a black screen. Other reviewers have mentioned this.
Poor
Only streams/downloads the 1st 11 minutes of a movie then stops... Every time
You can not use you computer while VLC is running
I thought it is only £2.99 why not to give it a try. I started watching a movie after a while it started to give me black screen. I think the app needs lot’s of work to make it more smoother. I stopped the app and my computer fan stopped as well. I thought I wasted the money but I hope the updates are coming soon. Otherwise I will never use it again. In case you are wondering about the WiFi I had fast connection and I was only three feet away from my router. I like the idea of streaming my videos on my iPad from my computer but not on the cost of heating up my computer.
Fantastic app
The app is excellent for watching your dvds on your iPad.
