- Choose between a fixed card CDI, RMI, HSI, or EHSI.
- Use the instruments like you would do in the real aircraft.
- Use the map mode to verify your progress.
- Lost? Use the help function to display the holding pattern entries in the map mode.
- Things are going a bit too fast? Use the freeze mode to orientate.
- Getting bored in straight flight? Use the fast mode.
- You want to start over or change the aircraft’s position or heading? Just drag & drop, or twist the aircraft symbol.
- Practice a particular holding pattern or radial interception exercise over and over again from new, random starting positions using the reposition button.
- Start with no wind and increase the difficulty later on by adding wind.
- To add more realism, the wind can be selected to be gusty and/or variable in direction.
- Getting settled? Why not increase the aircraft’s speed in the settings menu?
- Customize your own missions and adjust the wind the way you want.
- Use the hidden wind function to add a realistic challenge.
- Analyze your progress in the map mode. Rewind and start over. The previous track lines will still be displayed for you to see the difference.

(Updated w/Response to Developer) Okay...expected more for cost of App
for $20, or whatever I paid for it, I'd expect it to have the answers, or some sort of indication of if you did it correct. Confusing as is. And can't move the heading bug.
Response: Fair enough on the correct answers bit, as for the heading bug (the orange marker on the CDI, EHSI, HSI)...it doesn't move. Can't grab it, can't long select and move it, any tapping just moves the CRS setting. *Shrug* Dunno, I have an ipad pro 11.
Helped me a lot and saved me $ in flight training
One feature that would be nice is Holdings for example 1NM from station. That way you don’t have the flip flag for example
Excellent App for basic IFR
Easy and helpful, allows creating custom scenarios and get the idea of ‘the big picture ‘ .
PS; they have great after sales response. I was having trouble with an app and emailed the creators, they fixed it with an update within days!
Doesn’t mimic real world intercepts
The random placement makes no sense. In what world would I intercept the 264 radial inbound if I was EAST of the station? I have to open the map almost every time and reposition so I can intercept under 90 degrees
Great training tool
This is a great way to train your brain to quickly visualize the needles. I’m using this to exercise VOR nav skills in quick 5 minute breaks. Beats social media and cheaper than burning fuel. What it can’t simulate is the task saturation that you can experience in the cockpit. With that, this app is perfect with what it aims to exercise and will hopefully help reduce that workload saturation.

Great tool to help learn, practice, and visually understand VOR navigation and holds. A must have for students and even seasoned pilots!
Most helpful training app.
There are a lot of training apps out there and unfortunately I’ve purchased my fair share. In my opinion this is the one I come back to you most often. It’s easy to use, but it definitely challenges you so you can calibrate your brain to interpret the needles. The author has done an excellent job with this app. I would echo other comments that it would be great to see even more scenarios. Money well spent.
