For no other utility than writings list, it’s poor value, plenty of other apps can do that. For a subscription I would expect to get access to all the codex, that would be good customer value and a sustainable model for the company. But you don’t, so you paying not a lot.

Recent small quality-of-life changes have made a big difference. Duplicate lists, rename and change detachment of lists. Simple stuff but makes it much more useable.

Now I just want to be able to unlock codex info with a digital purchase. Don’t even mind paying the full price, just let me save shelf space and trees!

The app started a little weak with big gaps but as they have addd more features and details it really is the “one stop shop” for 40K needs. The subscription and codex codes are getting more important but worthwhile. Needs an option to add legends units though.

The app is great at building army rosters. What lets it down massively is the fact that after paying the monthly subscription, you have to pay for a codex for the code to unlock that faction. A codex that is out of date within weeks of its release. GW need to fully embrace digital rules sets and leave the hard copy codex as a stand alone lore, artwork and painting guide.

This is a great overall app for referencing rules in game with the command bunker, experimenting with lists with some nice recent additions to duplicate lists and codex updates and finally, looking up your opponents rules should you need to.

There are still some pretty annoying parts to the app which haven’t been fixed ie. Every time you open the app you get a welcome screen and the app kind of thinks you’re no longer subscribed, almost like you’re logging in for the first time, every time… 

You also have to have a plus subscription even though you paid for the codex and received a code for the privilege of using it digitally. This feels like double dipping in my book and certainly looks greedy on gw’s part. If you’ve paid for the codex, I shouldn’t have to do pay twice. Make the app accessible to codex owners and find a way to add more value to the app.
My take would be to add a game tracker for those who have purchased the mission cards or just make all the codexes accessible with the plus subscription. Gw need to rethink their codex model because this isn’t working for me.

The rules are really useful and free which is great but the £50 subscription which gets you access to the battle forge tool seems a bit much when you then don’t get any data sheets. For this you need to pay for the codex of the faction whose data sheets you want. This isn’t explained when you pay the subscription.

The app is far better then what has been provided, having the additional monetising of every codex in addition to an app subscription is frustrating. However, the main issue is the layering of rules that becomes challenging to remain on top of, particularly when concerning changes to data sheets- eg: the ‘captain’s’ reduce CP rule. This effects multiple units/armies and yet the data sheets remain true to the original rule with the update buried in a balance data sheet. Please address this.

Ignoring the ridiculous model of “pay £35 for book to unlock in app” when they already have a subscription model… the app itself is fine.  Does the job, very usable, frequently updated.

Sure some QOL changes would make it better but overall it’s a solid app.

Most people downvoting are protest-reviewing the stupid book-app subscription model,  or the app itself
