I discontinued my WaPo subscription last year after a long period of putting up with misleading headlines and inconsistent coverage. My decision was justified in the lastest refusal to endorse a candidate after originally planning to. I unsubscribed to both WaPo and the NYT. If CNN and others had required a subscription, they would have gone as well.

Informative narration

Nyepan on

Japan

This is a very informative paper for me because I prefer information as entertainment the Washington Post has sufficient political and international content to satisfy the needs of the most ardent consumer. An added bonus is the audio version of the news with no interrupting ads.

Good content, app frustrating

n738xe on

Japan

Presentation has gotten better, but niggles have grown exponentially. The most troublesome problem is that the iOS app will randomly slam me to the top of the Comments page or, even worse, to the top of the home page, from where I have to find my place in order to continue. If the article has slid off the home page, I must search for it. This is very frustrating because the Search function is all but worthless. Videos embedded in articles are very easy to start, disturbing those near me in the office or on the train, and very difficult to stop. Another frustration is that, though WaPo is in Washington, there is no way to get the article datelines to be presented in Eastern Time, only in the time zone I happen to be viting.

ワシントンポストにおける、政治性と、個人

名倉 寛 on

Japan

The Washington Post Website

Japan

One of the world’s great newspapers , housed in the best format on the market. You offer the reader alternative for browsing, appropriate for different terminals ( PC, iPad, iPhone). For the reader this gives an efficient and thorough way to read the news. Better coverage of Asia ( not just China) is needed.

Terrible audio

Inextinguishable on

Japan

Audio versions are horrible, given in a Japanese-sounding accent just because I’m a resident in Japan? 1) Very insulting and 2) the software is imperfect, translating some words into Japanese while keeping the rest in English. Want to be given options to choose from.
