Once Upon a Free Wattpad
A place where readers and writers connected purely through stories — no limits, no ads, no gatekeeping. Just passion, creativity, and community. Now, it feels like that spirit has been sold off. What happened to the platform that once let us save stories offline, read without interruption, and dive into worlds created by everyday people — not behind paywalls, but behind shared love for storytelling? Today, it’s a money machine. Ads, locked chapters, premium-only access. I’m not against creators earning, but it feels like the soul of Wattpad — the freedom, the connection — is gone. The app I once opened with excitement, I now open with frustration. This isn’t just about money. It’s about the loss of something that mattered deeply to so many of us. I miss prime Wattpad. I miss the community. I miss what it used to be.
Books disappearing
I’ve had wattpad for more than a decade and used to love it very much. But recently i’ve found out that the books i’ve added in my library keeps disappearing-from 600+ books to only about 100. What happened wattpad?

I really like everything about this app, well except for the ads, and ESPECIALLY THE DOWNLOADS WHY IS IT ONLY 2? And mobile has 25??? Pls. Equal rights equal rights.
Lazy devs
Its been years or maybe decade and the search filters are still the same. Also the reading format options are still the same. And this is the premium that i am paying? This is the premium that you can only offer, free of ads? Nothing else? What the heck is this scamming theme. Dont be so lazy! Make an update ffs

Laggy
I love it but it’s really laggy. I can’t stay in the app for 5 minutes straight because the screen won’t move so I need to close the app and open it again and again.

Where did the saved story go?!! I was just reading it a while ago then when I came back it’s gone!! I was so frustrated because I can’t find it!
