"Temperatures are expected to run above average in spring 2026. But don't pack your coat away just yet – we'll still see the odd wintry spell early in the season, before we settle into something more pleasant. Abnormally warm and dry weather may also accelerate drought stress and raise wildfire risk on heathland and moorland this spring, so it’s worth keeping an eye on conditions if you are heading outdoors. 

Overall, there is plenty to look forward to this spring - longer days and more sunshine, but as the weather can be unpredictable, do keep an eye on your weather forecasts and warnings.”
