## Weave Chat AAC Description
Weave Chat AAC is a free, dynamic, and completely customizable AAC app that is available to a variety of devices.

There are over 3,500 pre-configured words with a symbol library including more than 65,000 symbols that you can choose from.

Weave Chat AAC offers a large variety of verbs (green), pronouns (yellow), questions (purple), nouns (tan/orange), adjectives (blue), and conversational words (pink). All color choices were made based on the Fitzgerald Key and new vocabulary is added weekly.

Users can add their own custom images and categories in Settings —> Manage Custom Images.

In addition, users can add their own custom phrases that can easily be accessed from their board; to add phrases, go to Settings —> Manage Phrases.

Users can select a synthetic voice (dependent on their device settings) from Settings —> Change Voice Settings - here you can select your voice, vocal pitch, and rate of speech.

Image and text size can be personalized from Settings —> Change Image & Text Size (select from default - small, medium, and large). Settings —> Configure Image Keyboard allows the user to turn on/off features that allow for the category text to be read aloud (synthetic voice for categories), to keep the user in the category after a image has been selected (stay on category after image selection), and disable the speech output for individual words so that it only reads aloud when the white text screen is touched (synthetic voice disabled for individual words).

The AAC board can be modified in Settings —> Manage Board Builder. Here, the user can select from the default board (you must make a copy to edit it - to do this select “Add new keyboard” and then select “Hide Images” for Type of Keyboard); grid position boards (ranging in size from 1x2 - 7x15 rows/columns); and Board Builder (gives you the option to build a board from scratch). All boards are completely editable and all custom images and categories can be used from all boards.

Lastly, Manage Pin Configuration allows the user to set a pin over all (or just some) aspects of customization to lock down features as needed.

Feature List:
- Dynamic, customizable, AAC boards
- Large variety of verbs, nouns, and adjectives with additional vocabulary added weekly
- Add custom images and custom categories
- Create and save phrases
- Select a synthetic voice (as available per your device settings)
- Copy & Paste AAC picture icon messages via “share”
- Create and/or modify AAC boards via 3 options: grid position boards (ranging from 1x2 - 7x15), hide images, and/or create a new board from scratch
- “Text” others who have the app using AAC picture icons
- Set a passcode to lock down features as needed
- Weave Chat AAC currently only has English buttons/images

## Weave Chat AAC Reviews in United States

### ***** "Best free aac app"
I love this app. I love how it’s free, easy to use, and the creator of the app literally helps and creates more vocabulary.
-- Munchkin 86, 2025-05-29

### ***** "Best free app of its kind on IOS"
HI, I’m Gretchen and I downloaded literally every free AAC app that IOS offers, over ten options that I messed around with, went through all the settings, and did my best to see how they would work for my brother-in-law, a 32 y/o who has never used an app like this and never wanted to interact with a communication board when he was younger. I can honestly say that Weave Chat is the absolute best app of its kind available. I work as a direct support professional with my BIL and others and have already recommended the app to every client I work closely with and have let my client try it on my BIL’s talker to show their guardians how easy it is to use and how customizable. There are so many words available that I ended up hiding most of them to start so that it wasn’t overwhelming, but with how easy it is to use and customize, my BIL is now communicating for himself for the first time in his life and it is absolutely amazing to see. Thank you for making this app and updating it regularly, and thank you for giving Sam a voice.

### ***** "Best free app ever"
I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this amazing app. You can customize your age and it will adapt the words and if to young you just need parental consent. It has such a wide vocabulary I can speak full sentences. I love this app so much you need to get it if you need an AAC app. I love this app so much. A must need.

### ***** "Perfect free AAC, only one lil issue"
i love this app but i wish editing the buttons could be slightly easier, like if i could edit them from the main board page by clicking like a settings button in the top right to unlock the board so i can hold down on any button to edit it, and having a + button for adding a new word to any page/folder without needing to go back and forth in different menus for adding and editing images of words, because doing that currently is a little bit of a struggle and feels more time and mental energy consuming but otherwise its lovely and im so grateful it's free, if you guys could make the button editing easier in the future i would be so happy

### ***** "Amazing!"
This app has been a game changer for one of my clients. He is able to communicate clearly with a variety of people for the first time ever. It has made a huge difference in his confidence, behavior, and quality of life. As an SLP, I appreciate how easy the app is to use and program for my specific client. The tech support is super responsive and helpful. They worked late and over the weekend to fix an issue my client was having. Best of all, it’s FREE and can sync to multiple devices for carryover at home! Thank you so much, Weave Chat!
-- WendyBade, 2025-03-22

### ***** "Great free AAC app"
Coming from an SLP who is an AAC specialist, this FREE app just keeps getting better and better as a robust and customizable language system for all. Even had many different language options. Download and donate!
-- Carolynsarahr, 2025-03-16

### ***** "Wonderful"
I love this communication app SO much! It doesn’t place any aspect of communication behind a paywall, which I respect so deeply. I do have one small nitpick, but it’s not big enough to drop it down any stars. The thing is, with the self-recorded audio for buttons, the audio is always really quiet. I have to turn up the volume super high just to hear it. Other than that, this app is absolutely wonderful and I’ve been practicing using it every day, and needless to say, it does the job well!
-- YourGameReveiwed, 2025-02-23

### ***** "Amazing app"
This app is free with voice output and editing options! It is hard to get AAC options in my district and this is opening so many doors for my kids!
-- Nixal, 2025-02-07

### ***** "Dream come true"
This is such an amazing app!!! And for FREE!!
I really cannot believe it is real!!
This eliminates such a ginormous obstacle that SLPs face when attempting to get a child set up with a much needed AAC device…. Thank you Weave Chat AAC for helping both SLPs and future AAC users!
-- SarahHSLP, 2025-02-05

### ***** "The best free aac app!"
Weave Chat is a robust app with a responsive, thoughtful, and dedicated team of developers. They listen to every voice, and frequently add features because of customer requests. They are adding features and additional languages at an astonishing rate, and are among the aac apps I recommend the most frequently. I am an aac user myself, as is my child, and we both enjoy and use Weave Chat (among other aac tools as well).
