Useimmat sääennustesovellukset perustuvat vain ilmaisiin maailmanlaajuisiin malleihin, mutta Windy vie ennustamisen pidemmälle. Olemme investoineet merkittävästi tarkimpiin saatavilla oleviin säämalleihin, joita ajetaan aina mahdollisimman korkealla erottelutarkkuudella, jotta voimme tarjota maailmanluokan tarkkoja sääennusteita.

LIVE-SÄÄSOVELLUS – SÄÄTUTKA JA SATELLIITTI

Säätutka on yksi tärkeimmistä sääennustetyökaluista. Tarjotaksemme mahdollisimman tarkat tutkakuvat laajennamme jatkuvasti tietolähteitämme, jotta sade, lumi ja myrskyt eivät pääse yllättämään.
Luotettavia tutkalähteitä ovat mm. NOAA, Met Office, Météo-France, DWD, JMA, IMD ja BoM.
Maailmanlaajuinen satelliittiyhdistelmäkuva muodostetaan NOAA, EUMETSAT ja Himawari aineistoista.

Lots of information once you learn the quirks. Really bad user interface problems. For instance, I’m constantly having to use ”find my location”. Then it stays for a while.. and after a while it disappears and I have to ”find my location again”. Just show it all the time, please!

The recent new UI brought new problems. I used to be able to tap a spot, scroll timeline and see for instance rain accumulation for that spot. Now it only works while there is rain on the map - once rain stops while scrolling the timeline, the rainaccumulation disappears, and does not reappear when the rain starts again, have to tap again.. aargh.

I use this with finnisn FORECA for forecast and finnish metherological institute for real time wind data from several measuring locations.
Sometimes swedish smhi and estonian meth.

The teoretical background is intresting. Navier-Stokes equation applied as an discretation calculation method for the prediction is fascinating.
