I don’t see an option to contact the developer, either through the app or the website, so I’m posting a feature request and tiny bug report here; 1/ feature request; it would be great to have a scale marker on the maps so one can judge the distances. 2/ big report; the page for Najera, in the La Rioja section, comes up blank when connected to the internet. When offline, it works fine. I haven’t noticed this affecting any other page so far. Thanks for a great handy app!
This app was great on the CF, used it everyday for the map and to find Accom. Can you please include in your next addition whether an Albergue will allow you to pitch a tent and also the cost for use of showers and toilets? And also if there is a safe place/locker to leave your pack while you’re out after settling in? Some of us love to camp and still want to be close to our Camino family :)
I am walking the Camino Francés and have found this app to be invaluable. I did not want to carry a book adding additional weight to my luggage. The guide is informative and educational. I refer to the guide each evening before I head out. The offline map is fabulous, and will ensure that you remain on the path without using a SIM or resorting to WiFi. The elevation guide is most helpful. Easy to use. Well worth the expense.
Fantastic app! Much lighter than carrying a book. The elevation guide is priceless when you’re figuring out whether to walk a few extra kms or not. Would sometimes crash or bug out but was nothing a restart wouldn’t fit. Thank you!!!
This app literally saved my life when I walk Camino Frances in 2015. I was clueless about who to expect as it was a spur of the moment decision but having been told about this app a couple of days before I set out was a God send. The elevation maps where fantastic and allowed me to plan rest time before tackling the steep ascents. Places to fill up your water, distance between towns for food. An interface to book accommodation when I needed it. Most of all not having read the guide books, this have me extremely good history of the area and the key sites along the journey. Brilliant. I also have the Camino Primitivo app which I walked in 2016, honestly without it I would have been totally lost. But the online maps again saved my life and allowed me to pinpoint the exact location where I was to give specific directions to my transfer that has to pick me up. Brilliant apps, I give it 4star as more listings of hotels/motels than Alburgues could improve it.
I used this app almost every day I navigate my way along the Camino. I say "almost" as the map function needed to be loaded while you are on the net and if it crashed (which it did a little too often) it won't reload until you connect again. Apart from that it's a great resource to plan out each day, where to stay, make sure you're on track and read a little about the towns and landmarks you pass by.
This app basically does nothing. I was so disappointed. I was hoping it would map my progress or show me where I was like on Google Maps. But this is a swindle. I will investigate getting a refund.
I have downloaded this app in the expectation that it will help planning. Despite numerous attempts to download information on just the first stage, I have a basic map with elevations and some background about what the app is supposed to do. Basically nothing. What is going on???
This app was the best $5 I’ve ever spent. It has a useful list of albergues and hotels for every city, pueblo and village on the Camino - with reviews to help you decide. Be sure to use the WhatsApp helper feature - you tell it how many people and what date, and it creates a WhatsApp message in Spanish to request a reservation. I use this feature frequently. But the best feature is the map. It shows your location overlayed on a map of the trail. Not sure if you’re on track? Check the app. It will either reassure you or help you correct your course. I have consulted it frequently on the trail and have never gotten lost. Don’t listen to the old, negative reviews. The app is stable, doesn’t crash, and helps you navigate better than any guidebook.
