No Signup. No Login. Now in their 12th year as a mobile app, and their 14th online, the Wise Pilgrim Guides are the go-to source of up-to-date information on the Camino de Santiago.

The app is updated regularly with new content and new features and offers you the ability to leave tips for pilgrims following behind you.

This guide covers the Camino Portugués and its three most common variations; the Central Route, the Coastal Route, and the Variante Espiritual. It has been redesigned and now works almost exclusively offline (to share your comments with others will require a data connection). As more an more albergues share their WiFi this becomes less of an issue, and the guide will tell you which ones offer WiFi.

Accommodation Directory: A full directory of Albergues, camping, hotels, pensions, paradors, and cases rurales. Over 400 in total, with special attention to those that can be booked online.

Stageless Guide: No more "stage anxiety" or guide created bottlenecks.

Maps: Offline and online versions of a beautiful topographical may will give you a good view of the terrain ahead.

Photos: Photos of albergues, monuments and other points of interest along the way. Currently 400+ images and growing.

Scrollable Elevation Map: This one is hard to show with just a screenshot, but the elevation that appears at the top of every city page scrolls East to West. One complete elevation, from St. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago, uninterrupted by page folds.

Comments: Albergue closed early for the season? Have a restaurant that you want to share, or perhaps one to warn others about? Every location in the app gives you the opportunity to leave a comment and to read the comments left by others. No registration necessary.

Perfect app for the Camino

Made me feel safe- offline maps! And perfect for planning each step

Looks ok

Only just download and looks good

Not able to access download maps

I bought this today and cannot access the downloaded maps. The maps were my reason for purchasing the app. Very disappointing Also could not find any way of contacting the app developers. I would have preferred to have contacted them and tried to sort this out before I left this review but I had no other access that I could find.

Totally Recommend this App

I recently used this app to walk the coastal route from Porto to Santiago. It was extremely helpful and gave great tips on what to see along the way. I downloaded the map and could view where I was on the trail when offline, along with the information for each area. I think the way-markers have been improved and new ones built and found the directions were easy to follow. Totally recommended.

Great app

I used this app extensively on my recent Camino from Porto to SDC. As it was winter some of the places weren’t open. However, all in all it was fantastic and i relied on it in places where I thought that trail was unclear. I think the distances are a little bit different from the wayside markers but no big deal. It would be useful if it would be possible to have the ability to calculate distances from current location to the next milestone. An another might be to record the route from Vila do Conde to Arcos. Great app and will purchase another one for my next Camino.
