For example, it takes a while to load up, the advertisements (which is acceptable) come on in the middle of the segment and that’s annoying. -- tizwayzo, 2025-08-09 ### **--- "I just want to listen" I access the app just to listen to programs on local station when I am walking. Reading on device is burdensome for me. I have other means for doing that. -- dc7447, 2025-06-15 ### ***-- "Nagware" Every time it loads, the feed pauses or switch signals, the initial advertisement plays, again and again, and again, interrupting whatever I’m listening to. Between annoying and irritating. Despite this, it is my preferred method to listen to WLRN in the go. The previous version used to double stream on occasion. New version appears to have corrected that, thankfully. Great programming keeps me listening. -- SamGdlp, 2025-06-15 ### *---- "Not awful, but not very good" I used the old app almost daily. One push, I was listening to my local NPR station. Now, I select the app and I’m besieged by thumbnails that lead to nothing I want to use. Please understand that I have the NPR app. I have Sirius. I have podcasts. I have Applenews, which streams news stories, also. So, all these things are competing for my ears and my $. I use the WLRN app bc I want mostly to *listen* to streaming news/stories that are local. Why make me sort thru all those thumbnails, esp a whole thumbnail for 15 sec (?) sound clip? It seems like a waste of space on my phone screen. WLRN offers one thing none of the competitors do: local news by many people I know. Clean up the interface and make it one-click. Or, make it selectable between your classical/News. I appreciate the drive to innovate. So, I don’t want to be nasty. I just think the app update has room for improvement. -- Seminole Sue, 2025-06-13 ### ***** "Unfiltered information" When I want to know what’s factually making the rounds in the world, I listen to WLRN -NPR, -- No condemnations, 2025-06-05 ### ***** "Better" More stable. A little slow to load. -- 72 Vette, 2025-06-04 ### *---- "Ridiculously bad" A working app should be a top priority. The fact that after 3-4 years this app is still not working properly makes me wonder “what the heck am i paying $15/ mo for?”). Face it, for most people this is how we are consuming news during the day, i dont work at a desk like i did in the old days. And i dont want to carry a 2nd device (an FM radio) like i did in the way back days. This app is constantly crashing. It rarely restarts, if it restarts i have to listen to 45 to 90 seconds of commercials AGAIN (maybe 3 x in 5 min, like last week). At which point i bail on the app. for me this app is important because I value the local programming (weather updates, sunshine economy, the news Roundups.) However, most of the other programming over the years is from the national programs, and I can get it on the NPR & PRX related programs up on Sirius (which i also pay for). Maybe soon the days comes, for the first time since college a million years ago, i stop supporting public radio. sorry not sorry. 😣 -- RosesPetCare, 2023-03-19 ### *---- "Awful!" Wonder where my pledge money goes too! Please revamp it completely for a better experience. Use the one from WFME in Orlando as a model. -- Luart74, 2022-04-30 ### *---- "promotions and advertising filled wifi to network" Terrible app for a serious listening. It frequently switches from media to station promotions at the crossroads of wifi and network. Very frustrating to a serious listening. Please fix it. -- BuddhaWoke, 2022-03-07 ### *---- "Lazy and awful" I don’t even know why they bothered making an app. Every article just jumps you to the browser to read it. The app may as well just be a link to the WLRN website. Truly awful. -- Daniel O., 2021-05-26 [View all WLRN Public Media reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Apps Similar to WLRN Public Media - [Local 10 - WPLG Miami](https://apptail.io/app/local-10-wplg-miami-Cqb/united-states) - [Sun Sentinel](https://apptail.io/app/sun-sentinel-NMO/united-states) - [NBC 6 South Florida: News](https://apptail.io/app/nbc-6-south-florida-news-PMO/united-states) - [WUSF Public Media App](https://apptail.io/app/wusf-public-media-app-fXO/united-states) - [WFSU Public Radio App](https://apptail.io/app/wfsu-public-radio-app-IZO/united-states) - [WUWF Public Radio App](https://apptail.io/app/wuwf-public-radio-app-VZO/united-states) - [Palm Beach Post: Local News](https://apptail.io/app/palm-beach-post-local-news-VQU/united-states) - [Miami Herald News | Local FL](https://apptail.io/app/miami-herald-news-local-fl-cTU/united-states) - [WLRH Public Radio App](https://apptail.io/app/wlrh-public-radio-app-XZFb/united-states) - [Central Florida Public Media](https://apptail.io/app/central-florida-public-media-oSCc/united-states) ## WLRN Public Media Available In - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/united-states) - [Canada](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/canada) - [Azerbaijan](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/azerbaijan) - [Belgium](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/belgium) - [Brazil](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/brazil) - [Belarus](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/belarus) - [Chile](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/chile) - [China](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/china) - [Colombia](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/colombia) - [Germany](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/germany) - [Dominican Republic](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/dominican-republic) - [Algeria](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/algeria) - [Ecuador](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/ecuador) - [Egypt](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/egypt) - [France](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/france) - [United Kingdom](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/united-kingdom) - [Grenada](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/grenada) - [Greece](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/greece) - [Hong Kong SAR China](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/hong-kong) - [Indonesia](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/indonesia) - [Ireland](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/ireland) - [India](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/india) - [Italy](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/italy) - [Philippines](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/philippines) - [Australia](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/australia) - [Russia](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/russia) - [Sweden](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/sweden) - [Singapore](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/singapore) - [Thailand](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/thailand) - [Türkiye](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/turkey) - [Ukraine](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/ukraine) - [Japan](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/japan) - [Mexico](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/mexico) - [Nigeria](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/nigeria) - [Netherlands](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/netherlands) - [Norway](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/norway) - [New Zealand](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/new-zealand) - [Peru](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/peru) - [Argentina](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/argentina) - [Pakistan](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/pakistan) - [Portugal](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/portugal) - [Romania](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/romania) - [Jordan](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/jordan) - [Paraguay](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/paraguay) - [Venezuela](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/venezuela) - [Malaysia](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/malaysia) - [Panama](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/panama) - [Jamaica](https://apptail.io/app/wlrn-public-media-ocQc/jamaica) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
