WNYC

The app keeps freezing every other day and I have to constantly delete it and download it again to fix the problem

...son of a glitch. And now (12/11/24) it's just giving me a white screen! Well, done, WNYC, well done </snark>

This app is terrible. It does not work. So frustrating. I stream through Safari instead.

This app is a downgrade from the previous one. Any time my audio is interrupted - by a call, or a video that opens in another window - the WNYC audio will not restart. I have to force quit and then restart the app just to get it to continue playing. Sometimes even if I manually pause the audio (to hear a subway announcement for example) and then press play it won’t restart. This is literally the most basic functionality of an audio app and must be built into any iOS audio API no? How can this be this bad??

And that’s saying something. I agree with everything that OverlordXXVI said. And the kicker is the on-air promotions for the new and improved app.

Glad to see the live streaming and replay issues repaired, thanks for the updates. So much easier for me to navigate, especially on the home page where I can check out what else I might have missed live. Keep it up!

I really like being able to read Gothamist articles on the app now!

I had migrated away from listening on the WNYC app but with this update, I’m back! Great for listening live, finding the things I missed and discovering new content. Love the NYC Now local news!

Well, after reading reviews of the updated app, it’s good to know it’s not just me having issues. The old app wasn’t as flashy, but it did the job.

TERRIBLE, WQXR is no longer available on the app. All Pleasure derived from the App was the Varied Selection of Stations and you Limited it?? Some listeners don't have the internet at home and depend on the app. Some listeners don't have space on older phones to add Yet Another app. Why would WNYC Limit and make app Less useful? WHY DID YOU REMOVE WQXR??!!!
