Why can’t I just use the website anymore? Doesn’t Amazon harvest enough of my data as it is?

I’ve bought a lot of stuff off of Woot and up until my last purchase, I would’ve recommended them to anyone. I recently purchased a pair of boots and immediately realized that they needed to be returned as they were causing blisters on both feet within two hours of use. On Amazon, it’d be effortless. On woot, you need to write an essay about the issue, take actual pictures of the defect (how do I take pictures of the inside of a boot?), then sit back and wait. Woot has not replied after the initial return request and now it appears I’m stuck with boots that I cannot wear. So just be careful with them. I’ve come to realize that I’ll just stick with Amazon even if I have to spend a little bit more because you could just end up throwing money away if the product doesn’t work for you.

I had an experience that really exposed a core problem with Woot’s barebones approach to web sales: I bought a product using amazon pay and the address was wrong (an old address). Probably my fault, but I reached out to Woot after I realized and before the product shipped. With shipping companies, usually the only entity that can change delivery instructions or have a product held at a facility is the shipper, particularly before 1st attempt. I would not have minded even to travel to a facility to get the product. Woot may have been able to do this, but I would never know because I never got a response. I ended up emailing them 6 times through their own portal, and not one single response, no confirmation of receipt, nothing. There is no phone line or live chat service with whom to engage. Once you purchase, you are on your own. Woot prices are no longer elite, but it can still be useful when you are a shopaholic or just far out from needing a particular thing, and want to use them as part of a network to look for sales. However, I am very wary of a company that flat out ignores customers that it is currently engaged in a transaction with. That’s a huge red flag. This was a minor purchase, less than $100. What could happen with a more substantial purchase? What if you found the exact price you were looking for on Woot and had it shipped, there is some kind of error, you are reaching out to customer service, and just nothing, crickets. What do you do?

What’s going on woot? The app lags so bad. Can’t even shop on it anymore.

Once you get used to the blah games that are next to impossible to win. There comes a the none existent customer service. Email after email about product questions no return?

I was a Woot shopper from ages ago but dropped off. Just happened to google for something I needed and it was on Woot for a fraction of the price. Great. Linked my Amazon to my Woot account. Fantastic. Okay, what else is on here now? What? I can’t search? How am I supposed to find anything? I get your emails, sure but I can’t find anything in this app. What’s the point? There are THOUSANDS of items. Sure, there are categories, but you know as well as I do there are like a thousand different kinds of cereal alone.

Was a great app until Amazon bought it. Now it’s just a glorified Amazon ad that they can dump their refurbished junk off. Rarely anything new as far as electronics. Should be renamed Re-Woot. 👎🏻

Can’t link my Amazon, can’t contact support because all I get is a blank screen for their “authentication” page so there’s literally NOTHING I can do lol

Seriously, this is a great service. Yes, I realize Amazon technically owns Woot, but the service level is SO MUCH BETTER at WOOT! I have found fantastic bargains of quality products, and the rare times I have been disappointed or not received what I expected, they have always, without any hesitation, made it right. Amazon has recently disappointed me with their lack of any service, but somehow their Woot brand manages to get it right. I believe in rewarding excellence, so I’ll be moving away from Amazon, and making Woot my go to, whenever possible. Great service!
