How does WordDive work?

With WordDive, you’ll learn by reading, writing, listening and speaking. The learning algorithm optimises the pace of the exercises individually so that the study items are transferred from working memory to long-term memory. This is what we call permanent learning.

Permanent learning means that you’ll learn vocabulary and the most important grammar topics by heart. It requires you to write what you’re learning correctly, without listening, on at least two separate days. Once you’ve learned the basics of the language permanently, your confidence in using it increases and your language skills start improving rapidly.

The learning material is divided into skill levels and courses of approximately 40–60 study items. Following the clear and ready-made learning path is easy. You don’t have to worry about planning your studies – you can just enjoy learning.

Really Enjoying It

This is the first language app I’ve used that has kept me engaged. It gives a good range of vocabulary at once and is great for sentence structure. I like to read over the sentences to myself and I’ve been learning so much more this way. The app also gives short grammar lessons as you go through the course. There’s no lives lost or anything too video game-ish, which I tend to find distracting. It still has cute animations, but nothing too in your face. I’m going to subscribe!

Prepositiot

On hyvä ”tankata” uudestaan ja uudestaan prepositiot. En ole sitä aikaisemmin tehnyt ja nyt se on edessä. Gulp! Arviolta on aikaisemmin menty. Tämä on hyvä, vaikka tuskastuttavaa!

This was an awful experience

I downloaded this app because it was recommended for learning Finnish. I downloaded it and the entire signup was in Spanish and assumed I wanted to learn English. Thank goodness my Spanish was good enough to go through all of the questions to set up my program. I thought when it was done it would allow me to go back and choose another language - nope, the only option given me was to continue with the English learning program set up for me. Not helpful since English is my primary language. I deleted it.

Getting to many words at once

Im getting like 15 different words so its hard to learn words

Learning Spanish word dive

The lessons are simple, easy and build every day. Very repetitious but I have found in a week I have learned more than I have and any other class trying to learn Spanish

Too much at once

This app does well at explaining the lessons but dumps way way way too much info at once on you. These lessons are hard to me because there is just so much thrown at once. The lessons need to be broken down into smaller sections because you don’t have time to absorb it all before more stuff is dumped on you. It makes it hard, or maybe it’s just me.
