Everything in one place for language learning: translation and examples. I started learning Spanish two months ago and now read magazines. I have the Linguee app open on my phone and it is mostly enough. I can search a word in Spanish or English and the app identifies the language and gives the translation.

The dictionary gives you detailed definitions with examples that helps you understand it better. However, the reason I did not give five stars is because it works a bit slow.

A really useful language tool. Multilanguage support. The best way I know tuo understand how words are used in living language. My previous review is still valid... Brushing up my German is a longterm goal where reading living texts, books, newspapers, journals, ... has a central position. The best way to learn a language is to live where the language is spoken. If you can't do it linguee helps by excellent citations and their translations from existing sources. Yes, I would be happier if the emphasis would not be EU-legistlation, by even now it works.

Diese kostenlose App ist sogar besser als Wörterbücher. Es ist wichtig den ganzen Ausdruck sehen, nicht nur die einzelne Wörter. So wirst du die richtige Bedeutung besser verstehen. Eine "Muß-app" für jeden deutsch-sprache-Student.

Keeps me telling I'm not connected to the internet though I am connected to the internet; cannot download dictionaries via mobile data

I really like this application and it helps me a lot in my German learnings. But man, it hangs all the time! I typically switch between Linguee and other apps on my iPad when I translate something: I switch to Linguee, look for a word, switch to another app, then switch back to Linguee in a minute. And here it tends to hang for 10-20 seconds, completely unresponsive. It happens 4 times out of 5 for me. It makes me so angry! Yes, I can just stop using it and look for another dictionary. But if only the app didn't hang it would have been my dictionary of choice.
