What a cool and useful app
A bit different than a dictionary app I was looking for but I am finding this approach and format a lot more useful.

Linguee is a new kind of dictionary app for French-English, Spanish-English and other language pairs. You will find reliable translations in the shortest time, even when you're offline.

EDITORIAL DICTIONARY
Our editorial dictionary was compiled by over 200 lexicographers in order to be capable of providing answers to the most difficult of queries.
TRANSLATION SEARCH
Additionally, with the help of the integrated translation search engine, you have access to over one billion translations from the Internet.
QUICK SEARCH
Translations of words and phrases are shown after entering just the first few letters. Even inadvertent typing errors are intelligently corrected.
OFFLINE MODE
The editorial dictionaries can be downloaded for free and are subsequently available for use even when you're offline. This allows you, for example, to look up terms while you are abroad and have no data connection.
EXAMPLE SENTENCES
You will find examples sentences containing all the words you search for.
PRONUNCIATION
All of the dictionary entries have been recorded audibly by professional speakers.
3D TOUCH
With a light press (Peek) on autocomplete entries you will get a preview of the corresponding article. You can also Peek at a word will show you translations for the relevant words without leaving the article. Quick actions: You can open previous searches straight from the home screen simply by pressing the Linguee icon lightly.

Love the app but it freezes too frequently
This is a great app. I would give it 5 stars if it didn’t freeze every 5-10 times that I use it. Hopefully this gets fixed sometime.
Either full scam or part scam
All the 5 star reviews convinced me to give this app a try. I was particularly interested in offline dictionaries, and having multiple languages was enticing. However upon first launch the app asks for access to my home network, for vague and dubious reasons. There is zero reason why this app needs access to my home network, other than nefarious reasons. They do not elaborate in the app or in app’s description. It’s not needed to download the dictionaries, which you can still do in settings. But they try to convince you by saying it’s needed for the app to function. Clearly they are mining user data and don’t want to disclose it. That’s a hard pass for me.

Wonderful app if your serious about Spanish!
Offline capability great
Love that I can download my dictionary for when I have weak signal. Does hang up sometimes, but not a big problem - just need to close the app and reopen.
High security risk. Avoid
When initially opening this app after download, you will be met with the message: "Local network permission needed. We need this permission for the app to work." The app doesn't work unless the user grants it access to the local network. There is no reason for a humble dictionary to do this. Avoid.
Super handy!
Linguee has been very helpful over the years. I use it mostly for German - English. The downloadable dictionaries are great. I highly recommend this app.
Needs LAN access
Requires LAN access to function. That should not be necessary whatsoever.
Almost perfect
This app is amazing. The only thing missing is the ability to mark or save unknown words to review them later.
English <-> Indonesian Support
Looking forward to using this someday when the English : Indonesian language pair is supported.
