WSLS 10 News - Roanoke

Good app if you want to watch WSLS live. Definitely turn OFF the notifications, though. I was getting tons of notifications for stories I was interested in, but even if I clicked the second the notification came in, rarely got to see the video or written article.

Why does the information in the app not update? I see articles from Jan in Dec but nothing much in Dec. the insider is basically about getting to know the news crew. That’s great but why be an insider? There’s supposed to be perks.

Not in sync with Notifications. Notifications on IPhone screen are individually selected and often there is no news representing that notification to be found. News subjects that are of individual interest often cannot be located. Also a screen about streaming and sky cams takes over the screen and requires closing just to get to news. Communication with digital help more than once has not produced a resolution or even an offer of a looking into a resolution even after viewing screenshots. WSLS News 10 and its staff are a good news team so the development of a new app should represent its striving for excellence.

The last update removed the widget. Why?!?!! It was great because I could see three of the top stories at a glance, without having to open the app unless it was something I wanted to read or watch. The widget was actually why I used the WSLS app for my day to day news and with this change it’s not better than any of the other local news apps. Now it’s gone and instead I get annoying notifications instead. All. Day. Long. And when I click on one it ALWAYS takes me to the wrong story. This HUGE change has rendered the app useless for me. Time to change local news apps.

What is the point of sending notifications when the link takes you to a completely different story than that which was advertised in the notification. I click the notification which sends me to the video news website. I click play and get two adds then a story unrelated to the notification. I have to back out of that to get to the episode that has nothing to do with the story advertised in the notification. I have yet to see any of the stories in the notifications that I was interested in since I downloaded the app in October. My guess is your app developer is impotent to meet the news service needs.

Best news crew in the valley!

Was a great app. Recently, loud and annoying full screen unskippable ads when opening the app. Removed it for now. Fine if you can deal with that I suppose, has all the headlines.

The “live” feature never works on this app, which is what I downloaded it for.

10 News has been the educational program that I have ever watch in my 69 years as a news person. I’m now 61 years old and I refuse to watch any other station from now on. Keep up the good work, and your whole staff is very very professional.
