- Find hikes based on pass and permit requirements
- Kid-, dog- and wheelchair-friendly trails with dedicated filters for each.

- File your own trip reports and share the pictures you took on trail
- View and write comments on trip reports
- Like other user’s trip reports
- Sync your app activity with the web version of wta.org, where you can mark hikes as done and access our hike recommender. The more hikes you save and trip reports you write, the better the recommendations you get.

Access to a growing hiking guide

Banjoyist on

WTA’s hiking guide (and related map) is a must for anyone who hikes in Washington State. All the key information is there at your fingertips! New hikes are being added all the time. The user trip reports are useful to learn about recent trail conditions.

Very Hard to Read!

DVR! on

WTA is an excellent organization, and the information that they have available to us is second to none. My problem with this app is the use of a very light gray font on an equally pale background, which makes it extremely difficult to read for anybody who’s in the slightest amount of sun. Also, none of the text can be resized or zoomed in on, so anybody who would otherwise need reading glasses or who are in harsh light conditions would be out of luck. Thankfully, all of the same information is available on the web in a readable font on webpages that you can zoom in and out of for better look at certain pieces of text. BUT, once I downloaded the app, my phone would no longer allow me to look at the webpage itself, automatically redirecting me to the app, where nothing is legible. So unfortunately, I had to delete the app in order to be able to look up trail information. Which I don’t think is the point.

Very very slow app

Must run on very small servers. Text is way too small. Ignores system font settings on reports.

Missing Trail Maps

hmb3d17 on

I love this app and the last upgrade is mostly all positive except that now most of the trails I select do not have an actual trail map. When you go to the map under location and click on it, most times it just shows the trailhead where before it shows the map of the trail. For example, when you open Gold Creek Pond map it shows only a mark for the trail head. However, Golden Gate Loop actually brings up the trail map. I have screenshots of both. I would love this error to be fixed because I rely heavily on this app and it tends to be more accurate that AllTrails. A great app other than this issue!

Godsend for hiking

A must for anybody wanting to hike in WA. Most reliable, and best digital experience for scoping out trails. Would reccomended to anyone.

Great site and excellent resource!

I hike around I90 and Highway 2 corridors a couple times a week and LOVE this resource for reviews, directions, and maps. The community is outstanding and super helpful to one another. WTA does wonderful work all over the state!

My go to hiking app!

Love this app and love the organization as a whole. The best and most reliable trail reports as well. The new update rocks btw!

Go-to source for all WA hikes

DaveMoHiker on

WTA is my first step, go-to source to research all hikes in WA. The app has most of the features of the web site. Easy to search, comprehensive list of hikes with great hike descriptions, recent trip reports, often with photos, great trail head directions, and road conditions make this an invaluable tool. I pair it with Gaia (another great app) for downloaded and/or printed maps and GPS functionality.

Love New features

Love all the new features. Trailhead map super useful! Thank you WTA😎

Terrible update

Ciscokitty on

First off this app has not worked correctly in a long time. It doesn’t work offline, won’t let me submit trip reports and logs me off constantly. So I get an email about the new and improved app. Nope. My whole back pack is missing the thumbnails so I don’t even know what hike it is unless I click on it. Logged me out too. As far as working offline only time will tell. Disappointing as in general WTA is a great organization but this app is crap. I emailed about these issues so long ago but was ignored.
