WunderLINQ and my favorite inRoute Planning and Navigation app are now integrated for zooming in and out with BMW’s ‘wonder wheel’ multiple controller. Instead of paying over $900 for Garmin VI-Version 7, the WunderLINQ/inRoute together costs around $260 and gives me superior route planning and navigation on my iPhone (something I always have with me), on bike control, simple to use vs Garmin, the ability to share routes wirelessly and play music while riding. I give it 5 STARS!
I was just about to purchase the Garmin for BMW when WunderLINQ came up, and it is 100 times better than the Garmin, not to mention cheaper. I’ve used more than 20 different apps over time, and this is the only one I use every day. I don’t even bother checking for others Apps. WunderLINQ does everything; the dashboard has replaced my speedometer, and I have full control of the data, music, navigation, GoPro, and phone. Excellent!!!
This app is associated with the WunderLINQ hardware for BMW motorcycles having a built in Wonderwheel on the handlebar. It allows you to toss that crappy, expensive, proprietary Garmin GPS and use your phone for GPS, music, and pretty much everything else your phone can do. Save a bundle and don’t get locked in. I personally use Scenic GPS app but others work as well. Put the hardware in the GPS cradle, pair, and you can read real time data from the bike and control your phone while supplying power via the USB on the WunderLINQ. Given the relative maturity of the app it works well. Over time I expect the rough corners to be smoothed but I’m a happy user!
The WunderLINQ product and this accompanying App are just what the BMW Motorcycling community needed. We now have the ability to use our smartphones with the BMW Multi-controller switch on the left handlebar. Great remote control and the Black Box Embedded team seem to be fully engaged at getting 3rd-party Navigation App developers integrated with the WunderLINQ product. I've only given the App four Stars because there is always room for improvement. 😉
