Xequence is a comprehensive, fast &amp; reliable MIDI sequencer, editor, arranger &amp; controller for iPhone &amp; iPad.

Providing a desktop-class editing experience, it is the perfect centerpiece for a hardware studio, or for apps like AUM &amp; Audiobus 3 to create a modular mobile music production environment.

It’s got what I need, the interface is clean and no nonsense, it connects to everything I want it to and it works in my phone as well.

Really like how easy it is to enter notes, either recording directly or drawing manually, and editing them on the piano roll grid. Good quantization too. Great interface and solid performance running with my AUM sessions. I do wish there was a way to control the transport or track mutes via MIDI, or some way to start/stop sequences without opening up the app. I find myself going back to Modstep for that capability.

### ***-- "Good app, but auto save screwed me over"
This is a really great, well designed sequencer and miles ahead of GarageBand in terms of efficiency and power. I especially appreciate the auto melody generator, the ability to use scales system-wide, and the ease of editing notes.
However, unlike nearly every other iPad app, YOU MUST REMEMBER TO PRESS “SAVE” MANUALLY. Auto save usually works, but for some reason it didn’t work for me this time, loading only a blank file. I had rarely remembered to press the actual save button, so I lost hours of work.⏱

Also, when you delete or change a controller that you have already tweaked in Pianoroll or Keyboard view, it doesn’t seem to reset that controller value properly, so the result will still sound different until you restart the external synth app. (EDIT: Not this app’s fault! It’s an issue with the specific app I’m using, Roland Sound Canvas.)

Another feature that would be appreciated is SysEx support.🤓
Anyway, the app is good, but save your work.
