Happy camper!
Sooo happy to find that I can use StartPage as default search engine, not just in Safari but also when Safari is launched from Spotlight. Well worth the money!

Does the latest update have a bug? Suddenly the Blacklist mode isn’t working anymore… 🫤 EDIT: a reboot fixed it… happened on both iPhone and iPad 🤔
.
You glorious people, thank you for this magnificent extension.
Finaly able to get startpage back as the default search engine in safari
This works, I can finally use Brave search now on my iphone and mac! You don't even have to use the shortcuts if you activate the 'override' option.
This is just perfect now. It took me a while to understand how the syncing is activated but it works and it’s great. - open xSearch - go to settings under […] button top left - Activate Sync My Engines under iCloud Sync - close Settings - Go to iCloud tab - Tap a backup profile and make sure it contains the engines you want to sync - If so, tap the green checkmark top right to activate this profile for syncing - Activate iCloud Sync on other devices :-) Thanks!
I love this app! Its very clean, minimalistic and works like a charm. Developer responds quickly to questions too which is always great. One feature I'm missing in macOS is the ability to override the default search engine like you can do in iOS. Thats why only four stars, if the feature gets added I will update to 5 stars.
When I click on a link in an email client (eg gmail, spark, apple mail) it takes me to a search engine and puts the URL of the link I clicked on in the email in the search engine as a search. The expected behavior is to open the link address — not to intercept every link sent from an email client to iOS Safari. I love this app and will change my review back to 5 stars once this issue is resolved. Unfortunately, there is no support email listed that I could find so I am forced to communicate this way through the review section…
The extension xSearch for Safari claims it doesn’t read user data. But we can clearly see it DOES invade our privacy and read our page content and passwords. This is false advertising and a security breach!
