I have a vast collection of digital comics I’ve collected over the years. The connectivity between my iPad and MacBook and Mac Studio is perfect. It updates as I read and I can download from my either anytime, while everything stays organized.
IMO, yac readers user interface and feature set are by far better than all the available comic readers out there. I have an extensive digital comic collection on my Mac, as well as I download weekly releases straight to the iPad. For some reason importing books wirelessly with this app seems to be hit or miss for me. Even when I download files straight to the iPad’s download folder. At times yac reader won’t import them. I read the support faq. It stated image files may be corrupted or file extensions may not be supported. The problem is other comic readers import the same files without issue . The file extensions I’m using are common and shouldn’t be a problem. The comic importing needs to be more seamless for me.
No need to try anything else
This App is the best at what it does. And what it does is letting readers forget they are not holding a piece of paper in their hands while they enjoy their favorite books. I’ve tried a few comic book reader apps and this one is simply the best. 😍
The app itself is really good. I haven’t used it very long, but it’s worked very well and fast for the time I’ve used it. That’s not what this review is about though. The five stars were earned in customer service. I bought this app and imported all of my manga. Everything went smooth except for one file. And as luck would have it, it was the file I wanted to read. I bought this app after work on a Friday and it was late by the time I figured out I couldn’t read the manga I wanted. So I emailed the dude, thinking I’d get a response Monday. This dude got back to me in hours. Helped me trouble shoot the issue over the weekend. Back and forth, multiple emails and stuff. I’m just really impressed. This app is sold at a reasonable price, it works, there’s no subscription, and whoever is running this joint actually cares about their customers. Where else do you get that for 5 bucks in 2024?
Hey! Love the app and have been using it for the last few years. All of my comics are in Google Drive so it was my go to to import. I have everything in there. Can this feature get added back? Thanks
I just love that this app is just great comic reader.
You’re no longer able to sync files using google drive. You get a message saying, the app tried to access sensitive information. It’s a bit concerning but I emailed the dev(s) and they said} they’re working on a fix. Hopefully this issue can be resolved because it’s a good app. I contacted the dev(s) for help with this and received a quick response with a detailed explanation.
The biggest issue I’ve had is how confusing it is to use this app. It’s gesture based, which isn’t bad at all, but it can be very confusing to learn the gestures and navigate if you don’t know them. There is also the issue of buttons not being labeled, again making it difficult to know what they do. File management could also maybe be a bit easier Functionality of the app is great though, haven’t experienced any bugs
