It’s amazing. I wish they show the battery level in the app.
The app rarely works and constantly throws errors. Never shows up to date information about locks either.
If you are added as a guest to someone, you cannot remove the home from your keychain. In my case, I bought an August for an ex girlfriend three years ago and a Yale for my current girlfriend this Christmas. The ex never removed me as a guest on her lock. My new girlfriend saw the other girl in my keychain list as we were setting it up and immediately started questioning me. So fun! There was no way to delete it. Apparently it cannot be deleted without having the owner do so, whom I have zero contact with and for all I know, she’s moved or thrown the product away. It’s absolutely insane that you cannot remove yourself from another persons lock and you will forever see that person pop up on your home screen in the Yale app you personally use. Called Yale and emailed customer support to have it removed. Their response is that they nor I can remove it from “MY YALE APP” and that she has to remove me. Get it together Yale! This is absolutely ridiculous you can’t remove yourself from a lock in your own app. Would upgrade to 5 stars if it weren’t for this needless headache.
I bought the yellow lock for a year ago a few months ago the fingerprint stopped working. I went into the app and went to my user to try to fix it and instead of constant load state and when I try to register my fingerprint, it tells me that it can’t complete what I’m asking it to complete. I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it. I have signed out and re-signed in nothing seems to work. I’ve also tried to leave a review in your app and it won’t save. Seems like I need to get my money back and try to find a new company for my lock in my house. I definitely feel unsafe since I can’t access anything.
The Assure Lock 2 app does not remember the last three times in as many days where it does not recognize my authentication. PISS-POOR DELAY WHEN RAINING!!!!
I purchased the safe over a week ago and you guys still haven’t shipped.. Ives sent multiple emails asking when it will be shipped and no response. Yale has 200$ of my money and will no ship my product!!! Y78078
It's hit or miss. I have 16 stairs to climb and half the time I have to manually put my code in
I’m using the app with a Yale 226 Lever Lock. The app shows 20% battery strength and tells you to change batteries even after fresh batteries are installed. Communication is limited to 24MHZ which may present a problem for some users. Otherwise app seems very good although it’s cumbersome to have to verify your identity every time you log in. I also use SmartThings which appears to integrate nicely with it. It showed my battery strength at 94%.
Since this was the first smart lock that I’ve used I didn’t realize what features were essential. I did my homework comparing but thought this was going to be worth the high cost. WRONG! I have a Yale Assure Lock 2 which I bought in early 2023. I had problems beginning with the setup. When it finally “worked” it only “worked” occasionally. Every update of the app made things worse. By the time I was going to give up, the return window had passed so I decided to try to stick it out. About 6 months ago (more than a year after I bought the lock), the app seemed to be working better. Then the last update 3 days ago broke the ONE feature that ALWAYS worked for me…the Auto-Lock Instant. Now it doesn’t work at all!!!! When it first happened, I tried restarting the app, restarting the phone. No change. So I try the app on my Apple Watch…oh wait…lucky if that works 50% of the time. Try using Siri….oh no, communications error with the lock! What a shocker! So now I have to use my KEY to lock my “smart” lock which I paid over $200 for. This whole thing has been a joke (on me). One day I’ll be changing it out but just writing this has wasted too much of my time. If you’re thinking of getting a Yale lock, RUN to your second choice!
