The mobile app I would give 3 stars, but as a companion app for the desktop webapplication it is good enough. The method just clicked for me and that is worth atleast five stars!

Started the trial from middle of the month. I strongly advice you to start from beginning of a month, since the automatic sync function, syncs from the day you started using the app and if you budget things that you have paid it will still want to clear them. The best way of putting the app to trial would be to open up syncing the full month’s transactions or extend trial to cover a full month from begin to end. Unfortunately none of these are an option, and I will only have trial access until mid next month and no start to end experience with either of the months I will have trial access. Committing to pay for full version at this point is a no to me, since I also fail to see the value in the amount I am paying.

I’m using YNAB for years now. Monthly budgeting has become a five minutes exercise and expenditure tracking is straightforward with an always up to date and accurate view of where you are, at any moment in time, on any device.

The biggest drawback, at least for me, is that YNAB doesn’t have multi-currency budgets, which makes it a bit cumbersome and inaccurate in case you have multiple accounts and different currencies. I requested this feature years ago but obviously it’s not so popular…

YNAB is simply great. Gone are the worries when this or that bill arrives, cause you know you’ve got it covered. You know you can buy that great Chet Baker vinyl boxset (it was in mint condition), because you have assigned money for stuff like this. And that is the key thing with YNAB, it makes you think about your money and what you want to do with it. You can only spend your € or $ once. So… I’m not really scared of an upcoming zombie apocalypse and the world that it leaves behind, but I don’t want to live in a world without YNAB.

I have been using YNAB for 3 years now and I am very happy with it.
I absolutely love everything that the tool allows you to do and the app works great.
The only “bad” thing is that sync between YNAB and European banks doesn’t seem to be a possibility which demands extra manual input. Hopefully we’ll get there soon!
