Thanks for the vote
How much does YNAB cost?
YNAB has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is $149.00.
While it was easy up connect at least one of my banks ( the other pulls up the name ok then says it’s not supported), naming and getting dollar amount loaded is frustrating and not very intuitive.
I was hoping setup wasn’t a long drawn out affair but do far…..
Take control of your finances
This could use a two-tier pricing structure; one for users who use automatic bank syncing, and one for those who do not. I find manually adding transactions to be better for managing my spending.
Otherwise this is a great app with an excellent desktop web interface. YNAB has wonderful resources and support. Take control of your finances. Understand your net worth.
Not user friendly
Couldn’t find a way to import bank transactions
Bank link doesn’t work
Bank linking does work. Immediately deleted the app. Don’t waste your time
Super hard to use
Why would you not make it user friendly.
I have to watch video every time I need to do something. Why not make it easier so people are not pulling their hairs out.
Honestly, more trouble than it’s worth
I feel like I have really put time and effort in to trying to understand how to use this app but it seems impossible. I have asked the app support for help and they have been unable to fix the tech side. I’m going to ask for a refund and cancel the subscription. It’s certainly not helping me.
Feb 2025 updates make it harder to budget on mobile
I’ve been manual inputting transactions for a year no problem. App Updates in Feb 2025, and now remove cleared transaction amounts without reason, and hide key features that YNAB has always had upfront. Makes it difficult to know if my accounts are reconciled, and from an accessibility perspective harder to navigate on mobile. Oh btw clearing transactions are a hidden feature. If this is what I pay my subscription for, just to have key features removed, be wary.
Sept 2024 Update Review
Feb 2025: No, YNAB, there was nothing wrong with having the cleared balance and the working balance showing in each account. Or the easy ability to clear transactions. Why are there consistently poor design changes happening? Is this what all the sub price increases are going to? I’m done!
Sept 2024: No, YNAB, the sliders do not speed up anything on the app. It actually slows it down, and there is a delay when tapping “done”. This is worse than your new blueberry colour scheme. Please revert back to normal sliders!
Irrefutably Bad Change
Removing the three *amounts* from the account screen is a ridiculous decision. Myself and many unlinked users use the *cleared* *uncleared* and *working balance* figures to reconcile our accounts on a daily basis. Making this process slower just to shove the least useful amount in our faces is beyond aggravating.
You’ve saved zero screen real estate and hidden objectively useful data. I’ve used those three amounts since 2018 to reconcile my transactions. Fix it IMMEDIATELY or you’ll never get another dollar from me.
‘Seamless’ updates making things complicated
Latest update gives a more seamless look to the transactions screen. I don’t like how I now have to tap several extra times to view the things I used to be able to view all at a glance before - cleared and uncleared transactions, have to tap to view; to clear multiple transactions have to tap select first then tap the transactions then tap on more then clear. I understand I can swipe to clear but it was easier for me to select all transactions I wanted and clear them all with 1 tap. Please keep it simple, that’s one of the best things is the ease of use. Also not a fan of the updates for moving money from one category to another and for covering overspending, preferred and felt it was simpler before. I don’t need pretty I just want something that is easy to use.
