I absolutely love it and can not see myself living without it.
I’ve been using YNAB for over three years now, and it’s been crucial to getting my financial feet under me. I’ve gained incredible confidence in my budget, giving me breathing room to focus on (and exceed) my savings. I have the flexibility to cover surprises and budget for gift-giving, and I’m not worried about treating myself either. Some issues: I stopped using automatic sync a few years ago as I found that some Canadian banks were consistently unreliable (and signing in violated their terms of service). It would be nice to have recurring goals for longer than two years. When things are tough, the app doesn’t sugarcoat it (for better or worse). And the subscription is a bit pricy. But if you can swing the cost, it’s a massive boost.
Just great. Favourite developer. Favorite app.
I have been using this app since 2020 and it has helped me navigate a cross country move, the passing of my dad, taking in my mother, buying and then selling a house an another move! I have a better understanding of my finances and the ability to handle all the crazy things life throws at me.
One of the most confusing apps I’ve used
There is definitely a learning curve, but if you’re persistent and do your “homework”, you’ll wonder how you lived without it. I highly recommend the YNAB and Nick True videos on YouTube. I tend to use the desktop version more, but the app has made some amazing improvements.
I can’t add any account RBC, TD or Scotia bank. Terrible. No refund either
Fantastic, essential software. Insane, extortionate pricing. Profit over all else. It’s been years, and they still refuse to create a tiered system for users that do not need bank import or all the training they offer for ‘free’. Unforgivable disregard for customers, especially long-term ones. What you get is great, but you pay for more than you get by a wide margin.
Tried signing up with apple account, don’t work. Tried signing up with email, didn’t work. In both cases, I confirmed my email and when I login I get this error: Uh Oh! POST /api/v1/catalog? operation_name=loginUser got HTTP 422: verification_required [id: If you have an account with us, please check your email.] There’s no email to check after getting this error. So I can kind of sign up but can’t login? It’s a shame because I’m looking for a Monarch replacement due to their constant connection issues. Guess I need to keep looking. Also would be nice to skip the whole questionnaire for new accounts.
I’ve tried multiple times to load this app but it won’t go past the first prompt.. any suggestions?
