I feel so much lighter since i started using the app. I have been able to rally distribute my income accordingly and it’s such a relief. I went for it after I read the book and I don’t regret it. Definitely recommend it and have recommended it already
The app itself is okay. One of the most interesting features, the ability to connect your bank account is missing and has been missing for years. It’s only available in the US, Canada and some EU countries. If you live in other region, forget about it. The subscription is quite expensive for people living in LATAM. Add to that missing bank connections mentioned before and it makes no sense to me. A budgeting app should probably understand purchasing power of people depending on regions and adjust pricing like other services do.

It’s hard to keep it accurate, unfortunately. I have four accounts connected in one plan, and if I move money from one of those accounts to the other account, I have two transactions for +amount and -amount. If you assign both of them to “Ready to Assign” then you get just the + amount and the -amount is ignored. I then tried going and deleting both transactions, but unfortunately still have the + amount sitting in “Ready to Assign.” It’s annoying and it makes me not trust what the app says about my plans!!
Started using this over a decade ago (sometime prior to 2016), and I can’t imagine where we’d be without it.
The first thing that happens is that you’re told you’re wildly over budget and you can only fix it by borrowing against the next month. There no help, the instructions don’t match what you see. It’s the opposite of reassurance. Absolutely hated it.
The learning curve is absolutely monstrous with this app. The free trial is so that you don’t pay for something you don’t know how to use yet. I don’t even know what to complain about because this app is so unbelievably confusing and the way it reads different account just doesn’t make any sense and is baffling.
I’ve been using YNAB since it was an excel spreadsheet and it has kept me on track all these years! Super easy to use and doesn’t take much time at all. Highly recommend!
It can be a lot to set up your plan if it’s your first time adopting the YNAB method, but I absolutely love it. It has completely transformed my spending. The nice thing is that I can change my plan whenever I want and it combines my budgeting with real time transactions coming in. The ease of covering overspending in one category from another really cuts down on guilt spending.
