This budgeting app changed my family’s financial arc beyond any expectations. If you fully embrace the training and the budgeting, change is inevitable.
Been using this for years now, so thought I ought to give it a review. The ease of use makes this worth the money before you even consider how effective the tools has been for helping me keep track of money. Definitely helped us get out of some debt early on, and now I feel so much more comfortable with my finances. I recommend this to friends if they ask about budgeting.
Have been using about 1 year. The product has profoundly impacted how we manage our finances and has been exceedingly helpful in planning and tracking expenses and a monthly budget. Highly recommended.
Five years into this app and it is very very helpful. 100% worth the price in my eyes. Doing this without the app is an immense amount of work and effort before it even starts benefitting you. Just give it a shot and try to learn the attitude YNAB promotes.
YNAB and the YNAB philosophy of managing finances is life changing. Recommend reading Jesse Meacham’s books and the YNAB documentation to fully understand what YNAB does and why.
Started YNAB in 2011... 14 years later, I know where every dollar has gone & given them a “Job”. Been a game changer & I always know exactly what do with every dollar we make. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
I suppose this would be an easy app if I was more technically savvy. I found myself going in circles to finally get somewhere but not without frustration. I think there is room for improvement. I find rocket money far easier to navigate so I’ll be going back to that.
So I’ve had this app for about 4 weeks now on a trial. It was quite a learning curve for me to get it up and running. I’ve also had trials with a few other budgeting apps. Some of them were easier to setup. Some were “prettier” with all the graphs and color. But most of the other apps I’ve tried had flaws too. From late transactions posting or apps freezing up, to very poor customer help. YNAB customer help is WAY better than the others. And there’s many tutorials online from both YNAB and financial advisors. I’m especially impressed with the a.i. help on the app and web page. Almost any question I submit to it gets answered in a couple of seconds and thoroughly. The other apps that I had a trial in we’re never much help at all. So I would have to send an email in and wait for a response for two days or so before I moved on. That makes it kind of difficult if you only have a seven day trial period on one of those apps. Overall, I am very glad I stuck with learning this app and it’s the one I am picking to use. The only reason I gave it a four star instead of five stars is because of the steep learning curve it takes to use it. But that may not be fair and it may only pertain to me
