replacing visual cues with text ...

... is a very bad idea! If I wanted bad looking apps I could probably use some Microsoft software. No really. Please stop clustering every free space with some additional text.

My daily tool, but questionable UI choices

Dmitry Serdiuk on

Switzerland

I use unlinked accounts so my transactions stay uncleared until I reconcile them once a month. Now in the list of transactions I have a super prominent badge saying “uncleared” on every line. I consult this list to see what I spent today and I have entered everything, I don’t want to read “uncleared” on every line. Guys, do you really think this information is really deserving so important and visually heavy spot on each line in transaction screen? Also this new “Show N uncleared transactions” banner moved the first transaction down by like 10% of the screen. Every single active user is opening the screen to check their transactions. Are you sure everyone cares so much about the number of uncleared transactions and wishes a huge full-width button to filter the list? It’s funny you mention Marie Kondo in the release notes. She is strongly advocating against adding unnecessary stuff, which is exactly what you started to do. I hope you will reconsider your latest UI choices.

Harder to use now since week starts on Sunday in the date picker. Please let the date picker use iOS locale settings or let the users select the app week start in app settings.

From Useful Tool to Waste of Time

s a long-time user, I’m quitting due to disastrous updates and relentless price increases with no real added value. Replacing quick line-by-line selection with a selection button? A pointless change just to “close a sprint.” YNAB is now nothing but a waste of time, energy, and money.

Questionable UX choices in last updates

Isorn on

The new grouping of accounts puts credit cards below “cash” accounts This make my daily usage of YNAB in mobile a terrible experience; since I have a lot of cash accounts, I need to scroll down a screen and half to be able to select the credit cards when entering new transactions.

Nice tool, too expensive though

Given the improvements the app has seen in recent time, the price is hard to justify.

Trop chère

Le prix est exorbitant pour application qui est pas traduit en plusieurs et le système automatique des banque ne fonctionne pas dans mon pays. Dommage ! Je pense que je vais retourner sur la version 4 sur pc 🤣

Fix ios shortcut bug

Giovanni Spampafica on

Switzerland

I have setup a shortcut that whenever i pay with NFC via Apple Pay the amount and the payee is passed into ynab to add transaction. Problem is if the payee does not exist, i am not able to hit + button to add it. Ynab prompts me with an error message: oops ynab encountered an issue please close the app. This is annoying i just want that if the payee does not exist it gets created automatically
