There are 200+ audio points  that play automatically along the scenic drive, featuring the best things to see and do, complete with stories, tips and driving directions. 

As you drive, your professional tour guide shares advice on how to prioritize your time at recommended “not to be missed” viewpoints, suggested side-trips and places of interest. 

Tours work offline using free GPS signal and location services, so no data roaming, network, or Wi-Fi is required while touring.

WHAT TO EXPECT:  
Yosemite just might be the iconic US National Park. A land of giants, massive granite cliffs and domes providing the setting for dramatic waterfalls to tumble thousands of feet over.

While in Yosemite Valley, with stops at Yosemite and Bridalveil Falls we’ll show where to spot for rock climbers on the sheer granite El Capitan. Considered mecca for climbers from all over the world, you’ll hear about their feats, while new records may be set for you to see.  

As we climb to the spectacular Glacier Point for views down into the valley, you’ll learn how important Presidential visits shaped the future for National Parks and hear how the legendary Buffalo Soldiers became guardians of the National Park.

Travel to a hidden corner of Yosemite National Park, the Hetch Hetchy Valley and feel rather insignificant as you stand under the towering Giant Sequoias in Mariposa Grove.

The tour officially starts and ends close to each entrance of the Park; Big Oak Flat, El Portal, Fish Camp Wawona or Lee Vining Tioga Pass entrances.  Or you can join and pick up the commentary anywhere along the route.  Narration will automatically trigger at the next commentary point.

CHARGING:
++  Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charge to keep your phone charged, and avoid charging through the USB port. 

AUDIO:
Listen directly from your phone or connect to the car stereo via Bluetooth. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle as this can cause audio issues. The audio can play through your car’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto display, please note that the map will display only on your phone.

IPADS:
** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note only the iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular models of iPad contain a GPS chip. Wi-Fi-only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically.

DOWNLOADING:
The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must download the app ahead of time over Wi-Fi (recommended) or cellular data. Once downloaded, you can tour offline without cell service.

This app brought me to the most breathtaking scenic locations in Yosemite that were not described, or even mentioned, in my guide book! (Two are Taft Point/The Fissures and Washburn Point, both on the road to Glacier Point.)
The narration is educational, and delivered in a friendly, congenial manner. Feels like he’s a friend traveling with me who is chock full of knowledge.
As other reviewers have said, the app works flawlessly, even in areas where there is no GPS or cell phone reception.

His voice is energetic without being childish and the stories he tells are interesting. Researching, I ran across the Gypsy Guide for Yosemite National Park. For $5+ what’s to loose.  We were so pleased at the points he pointed out that we would have missed.  Also he helps navigate at turns and major routes.  After Yosemite we went to the hotel and downloaded the Big Sur tour, just as informative plus 7 have to ding dongs, so you don’t miss out. This made my Yosemite trip 1000x better. We drove into the park in the South Gate and I remembered to turn this app on. Whoa! This app absolutely made the trip to Yosemite perfect for us! We named him Papa and he guided us through every part of this national treasure. Plenty of advance notice when there was a decision on a turn to take or a picture opportunity...without him we would have been lost both geographically and educationally! 
Although they give you a map when you enter, just save that for when you get back home! Papa gave us so much history and information on each feature that we may not have taken the time to research...real time and real eyes on the park feature as he described it. Use this app ...period! You will love it!

I am so glad I heard about this app before taking a family trip to Yosemite! This app is absolutely perfect - it works flawlessly (even without cell service), the narrator is well-spoken and pleasant to listen to, and it is full of great facts and recommendations. We just started the tour, put the phone down, and listened to all the great info as we navigated the park. You don’t need to ever touch your phone. All of the information is automatically triggered by your GPS location. It warns you of upcoming points of interest, where to turn off, and gives hints about best parking options. This frees you up to just enjoy the views! It’s really like having a tour guide with you in your car. Absolutely worth the money! I will definitely purchase their other apps if we visit other locations they cover.
