I got logged out of YouTrip while I was overseas traveling. When I tried to log back in the verification process needed my Singapore number to send the code to, however, I am using pocket WiFi for the trip hence I do not have a local number for the country I’m in. I wanted to use email verification instead but was told by their support staff that the method is having issue and not available to us now. December is the peak holiday period where people would be traveling and likely relies on multicurrency cards like YouTrip, so I think it is ridiculous that the various verification methods are not being maintained and avail to us with urgency. 

Support staff replied slow, and each time they were telling me the same thing which is to use a local number instead, which I have repeatedly told them I do not have. I think my luck would have been better speaking to chatgpt that remembers the conversation.

Was stuck in Europe using e-sim and was not able to use the app at all as email verification was not working! A total waste of time just communicating with the support team which took more than 3 weeks and problem remained unresolved. Use at own risk of not being able to get cash when you need most.

Tried sending $35 to my dad, didn’t work. App said it will be reversed in 8 days, two weeks later and it is still not in my account. Tried sending a request to the customer service, said a reply will be given in a day. Took 3 days and asked me back for more details of transaction. Very frustrating.

I was relying on YouTrip in China and it would make me verify almost 80% of my transactions. That wouldn’t be a problem if the verification was fast but it was so slow I couldn’t even complete the transaction before the timeout for one vendor. The entire flow can take over a minute just to pay for something it gets worse when a transaction fails and then 1 minute becomes 5 and you’re holding up a queue

This card gives very good exchange rate for overseas use or for purchasing items from overseas using USD. I like the convenience and good exchange rate but its app should allow mobile verification via WhatsApp rather than SMS as when we use travel SIM we have no access to SMS. I tried to use verification via email but the app returned a “something went wrong” reply. Thus I was locked out of this app. I hope Youtrip can look into this asap.
