So bad, but there is nothing better.
It’s incredibly frustrating to have to activate the search function every time I want to find new videos that are appropriate for my son. If I leave it on, the app suggests a lot of unsuitable and even horrible videos that I don’t want him to see. There’s no way to search for videos with proper filters. For instance, I want content made for children but nothing like Cocomelon, which has already been shown to have negative effects on kids. Besides, small children can’t search for themselves, so why can’t the app simply stay on the mode, to show only the videos i Peoved but a search option ? I would love a feature that lets me search only within videos I’ve already approved. Additionally, when I try to remove a video from my list, the app prompts me to block it instead. I don’t want to block it, just remove it from the list. I also don’t understand who approves many of these videos—they are often inappropriate or not truly meant for children. It’s baffling that an app as big as YouTube has such a poorly designed platform for kids. Why there is no option to lock the screen so that children do not touch it !!!!
