Now shows won’t even mark as watched and you can no longer physically mark a show as watched. Does not matter if it’s on a phone, iPad, or tv. It’s really starting to piss me off. I’m tired of prices being risen with no new channels. And now this issue. Then when I’m done with a housewife series, an automatic series starts which is the same one every freaking time. I’m so tired of it. If a series ends just stop playing, don’t automatically start the same series. I’m going to can el YouTube TV because when I also click on my series, it no linger marks what I watched, so I have memorized all the showtimes on the days and that’s how I can guess. It used to be redlined and I could tell what I already watched. You can provide feedback on streaming quality, but no one ever responds. Conveniently, it NEVER buffers during commercials. It only buffers in the middle of the event. As a parting gift, YouTube TV turned off in the second quarter of the AFC Divisional Championship game. More reason I am incredibly happy in my decision to cancel my YouTube TV membership. I will actually save money and have more to watch. This app MUST be installed for YouTubeTV on an AppleTV device. If you’re in an Apple product ecosystem this app cannot function for local programming without giving it full time tracking capability. My elderly mom has YouTubeTV on an AppleTV 4K box. At least once a week, Google turns her screen black with a location verification message. She has to have YouTube TV installed on her iPhone (mobile device), open it and tap Connect. The app on the iPhone MUST have permission for local network, full time precise location, etc. She has had to learn to force close YouTube TV on her iPhone, and then go through this process 2 or 3 times. It’s absurd for Google to be forcing people to reverify their location using their MOBILE device. This app requires way more permission than happy social media apps. The cable company doesn’t require your mobile device to have their app installed or to have an app that has complete tracking capability for even when you’re not at home. Most people use YoutubeTV because their are on a home LTE or fixed wireless service instead of a cable TV service. This is why we get location verification problems with local channels working on YouTube TV. The mobile access is from a cell tower that tracks with GPS and Google is demanding GPS coordinates to circumvent privacy protections. None of the other streaming apps provide local TV stations (yet), and they don’t pull this location verification like Google does. I think this service is overpriced for the trouble it is to get even a PBS station to stream. Also, how we know that Google is requiring GPS is that they are failing to play local stations when they have a regional location, ie, the account is in Los Angeles but Google shows playback location San Diego because the service is sending a switch location when the device is in a different nearby market like San Bernardino or Los Angeles. -- fun4kudu, 2025-01-25 ### ***** "Historical."
