Yuka is a free mobile app that allows you to scan the barcodes of food and personal care products and instantly see their impact on your health. A rating and detailed information help you understand the analysis of each product.
When a product has a negative impact on your health, Yuka also recommends similar but healthier alternative products.
After a huge success in France, Belgium and Spain, Yuka decided to launch the UK after receiving many requests across the Channel.
◆ A 100% INDEPENDENT PROJECT ◆
Yuka is a 100% independent project : product reviews and recommendations of healthier alternatives are done in an objective way. No brand or manufacturer can influence them in one way or another. Furthermore, there is no in-app advertising. You can access detailed information on our business model on our website (www.yuka.io).
◆ 5 MILLION REFERENCED PRODUCTS ◆
Yuka established a database that contains 3 million food products and 2 million cosmetic products.
Each food product is evaluated according to 3 objective criteria: nutritional quality, presence of additives and organic aspect of the product.
The method to analyse cosmetic products is based on the analysis of all the ingredients of the product. Each ingredient is assigned a risk level according to the latest scientific data.

AMAZING
I NEVER knew I could find this out about my products as some brands could false advertise how good their product actually is and to see if the more expensive products are worth the amount of money if you could make a down grade in price but upgrade how good the products ingredients are. 10/10 would recommend this app!
Amazing realisation
Never done a review but this app made me realises I was eating something that had been causing me migraines for years that I didn’t even know

Self rating app raises issues of AI discrepancies
After exploring various oat milk options through the Yuka app, I have decided to return to consuming dairy milk. During a recent visit to the Daylesford farm store, I opted to try their Organic Skimmed Milk, which is homogenized. This product was not listed on the Yuka App, prompting me to scan it using the app's self-rating AI feature. The app assigned a rating of 78/100, which I found inaccurate due to the lack of ingredient scanning. In fact, the app erroneously flagged a harmless ingredient as hazardous.
Subsequently, I proceeded to scan the product's Organic certification, only to receive a notification from the app indicating a 24-hour period for product rating. It is crucial for companies to recognize the potential misuse of AI technology by consumers, wherein individuals may provide misleading ratings to products through such scanning methods. This issue underscores the importance of maintaining accuracy and transparency in product assessments facilitated by AI technologies.
Review?
I honestly, never knew an app like this existed until yesterday. This is life changing for me as i can never make my mind up on what to buy as I don’t have trust in many companies. I will use this app for years to come!

More products need to get added. Also list supermarket names were you can find the top healthy products.
Fantastic app I wouldn’t be without
I use this app all the time to check mainly beauty products but it’s also good for packaged foods.
Essential App
I don’t usually bother with reviews but this app could literally be a life saver! Everyday products with known carcinogens should be banned! It’s criminal enterprise what is going on but this app is a game changer!
Essential app
I can’t believe the difference this app has made to my shopping habits. I try to eat healthily but like most I’m thwarted by the food industry’s messaging which make it so hard to determine whether a product is truly healthy. Yuka cuts through the hype and gives an instant objective assessment of the product. I’m amazed at the products rated as bad or poor which I had previously thought to be good. But the app makes it so easy to move away from those and find better alternatives. You gotta love it.
