ZeroTier One for iOS allows you to join ZeroTier virtual networks as VPN connections on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

ZeroTier creates peer to peer virtual Ethernet networks that work anywhere. It's used as a faster alternative to VPNs, to provide a seamless hybrid or multi-site/multi-provider cloud backplane, for remote collaboration and distributed teams, and for Internet of Things (IoT) applications to provide direct end-to-end connectivity to specialized devices.

This app provides virtual network endpoint functionality for iOS devices. To join a virtual network from an iOS device, simply tap the '+' button, enter the network ID and name, and click Join Network! (Once a network is added you can also join it via the iOS VPN control panel. It will appear there as an available VPN connection.)

You can only join one ZeroTier network at once due to an iOS limitation of one VPN connection per network extension app. The app allows you to add multiple networks but if you flip one to 'on' any others currently joined will disconnect.

Reliable and useful but

the battery drain in “on demand” mode is ridiculous. I know it’s a beta feature so I’m not mad :)

Useful for JitStreamer

Has worked flawlessly in my experience and has allowed easy use of JitStreamer.

good for friends

i love it, i get to play with friends anywhere. i have one in canada and one in brazil, most importantly, i get to play terraria with my friend who introduced me into terraria. we have played since 1.2

Easy to set up

Setting up took about 20 minutes using the instructions in my FileBrowser app. Unobtrusive and simple, and it works.

Doesn’t work, doesn’t tell you it isn’t working, doesn’t tell you why it isn’t working. Definitely doesn’t tell you how to get it working.

Any sufficiently advanced technology...

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic - that is how I feel when I use Zerotier! Add all your disparate computing devices into one virtual network, and they effortlessly talk to each other like they are all in the same room! But in reality they are thousands of miles apart and behind firewalls and NATs... Simple to set up and robust = amazing!
