I normally use BeU and DeliverAddis which have been great. But I wanted to order from Boss Burger and an influencer suggested  Zmall so I figured I’d give it a shot.

After placing the order, I only got a call back a good 40 minutes later from the dispatcher to confirm my order. After which I got another call from said dispatcher asking me to deposit the money despite my choice of cash on delivery. I’ve never had such a thing happen before with the other delivery services. Personally I prefer confirming receipt of items before paying because there’s no way to get the money back for me. 

I explained this to her and she said she would cancel the order. I said fine. Then she called back and told me she would keep the order at her expense. I said it was unnecessary but she said she already placed the order so we kept the order. 

The order got delivered a good 3 HOURS LATER! I didn’t make a big deal of it because I was hungry and it was dark but then I found a drink was missing. The driver was still there but he said he would call the dispatcher, confirm, and get back to me. I left the dude a large tip so I had hoped that would insure promptness. However, he disappeared. I called her too and she said she would call back and… you guessed it she disappeared too. They both don’t answer my calls. Honestly this is the worst service I have ever received and I wasn’t even blowing up. I was calm. Regretting staying calm, regretting tipping, and regretting downloading this stupid app. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

You receive your order in like 2 hours and it’s all cold and all. Plus most times the delivery guys don’t even update you on the status of your order. For example it’ll say the driver is heading to the restaurant and it’ll stay that way for like 2 hours.

I’ve been a customer of Zmall since it started and been using it everytime I’m im Addis and while it was a good in the beginning, the service has been the worst lately. An order is taking longer and longer and now it has become Normal to wait  over three hours for one order. By the time the food gets delivered it’s stale and packaging is almost always ruined and the customer service doesn’t seem to care about how late an order is or how damaged the food is. It’s very disappointing to see what was once a promising delivery service go this bad.

Listen, there’s no good delivery app in Addis. Deliver Addis is pure and utter trash, beU doesn’t have a good selection of restaurants, the rest are just starting up. Zmall, will piss you off guaranteed but won’t piss you off worse than the rest most of the time. I also like that you can track your delivery when the drivers remember to update the status.
