None of the household wants to have to sign in just to use the heater. What a pain in the butt. We’re sticking with the old app -- 2nd Generation Beatlemaniac, 2026-04-14 ### *---- "Back to using the old app" Unfortunately whilst installation was successful you now need an account to use the device. Once done it tries to find the AirTouch 5 device and fails even if connected to the same wifi network. In the new app, I can’t even tell if the device is connected to my wifi network - so no idea what the issue is. I’m back to using the old app - which works just fine. -- BAW5E, 2026-04-13 ### *---- "Don’t Update" This is not an update. This is major change to how you use the AirTouch ecosphere. You will need to reconfigure your AC device as your scenes don’t migrate to the new interface. (As far as I can tell) So you are going to have to spend a lot of time reprogramming it and learn a new way of doing things. The YouTube videos do not explain how to migrate your settings from the old app or how to reenter your programs. I will stick to the previous version for now. That is, at least, one saving grace. It remains available. Response to Developer’s comments. I watched the YouTube videos, followed the instructions but they do not explain how to migrate settings. Being able to access the AirTouch5 app from the Home app makes a mockery of the claim the “airtouch unifies it all”. Works on the AirTouch device, but phone pairing refuses to work, claims to not be on the same wifi. Meanwhile the old AirTouch5 works perfectly fine at the same time. On top of this there’s no troubleshooting instructions to assist anyone and the company is really hard to get a hold of. Local installer has suggested to not even bother upgrading as they haven’t been able to get the app to work on anyone phones for remote access at all. My major reason for this upgrade was no login required for app control on local wifi. Now requiring a login to control my home AC is terrible. Do not buy if you want to have a system that works without requiring 3rd party services. I can not recommend. The software update did not advise a login would be required. -- Pjd7777, 2026-04-13 ### ***** "Much improved over old app" I’ve found this app far my useful than the old AirTouch 5 app which would constantly sign me out and I could only reconnect if I was on the home wifi - so I feel the signing up for an account makes sense to avoid that ongoing issue. The turbo function for individual rooms is great on these colder morning as we enter into winter. No problem setup up to work with my Panasonic ducted system. All the other negative review I feel are a little unjust. All you had to do was run the old app and it just picked up the AirTouch 5 system automatically. The new AirTouch Home app requires you to use an online account, when it was working perfectly wi5out one in the past. This is a complete deal breaker for me, there is no logical reason on this earth that my aircon should require an online connection to operate, when we know this was never a requirement in the past. On top of that, the new user interface is complete garbage. While it looks fancy, many tasks that used to be really simple, requires so many extra clicks now. For example, it used to be really easy to switch between percentage and temperature mode by simply tapping on the temperature or percentage on screen. Now you have to go into the actual room configuration page to switch the type of vent control you want. It’s basic things like this which makes the new AirTouch Home very difficult to recommend. I absolutely do not want to use this and hope they never force us to switch to this. As a matter of urgency, they need to reintroduce wifi only mode, and do a usability assessment to make sure the new app is as easy to use as the old one, because right now, this is a massive downgrade from the AirTouch 5 app, which was easier to use, and more feature rich with options like not needing to connect the system online with an account to control it via the app. -- Raziel2001au, 2026-04-11 ### *---- "Doesn’t work" Can’t connect to the controller. Linking via wifi is a poor UX and UI option especially when you can’t in the air touch home app on the console see which wifi you’re connected too.
