## Alter Ego Description
What if you could live your life over again?

In this text-based interactive fiction, you choose what happens next. It's in the style of pick-a-path gamebooks, but with over a thousand multiple-choice questions, it's much longer and deeper than traditional gamebooks. Alter Ego starts at birth and ends at death, including two substantially different versions, depending on whether you choose to be male or female. 

Will you grow up to be confident and happy? Will you fight with bullies, or befriend them? Will you find a date to the senior prom? Will you marry and have kids, or start your own business and become a millionaire? The choice is yours.

This game will change your life.

(Alter Ego was originally published in 1986 for the Commodore 64, MS-DOS, Apple II, and Macintosh. The current edition of the Alter Ego game is a production of Choose Multiple LLC. This edition includes an updated interface and fixes bugs in the original version of the game, but the content of the game hasn't changed from the original 1986 version of the game.)

I originally played the free version online but the limitations of the free version slowed me down and I enjoyed the game so much I finally purchased it.
It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Such a wonderful game, highly recommend it to anyone.

### ***** "Possibly the greatest RPG ever"
This is a true role-playing game. You take on the role of a baby and guide them through life.

To play you live a perfectly normal life and win by having a peaceful death as an 90-something. But it’s not easy. There are many ways for this game to end, and every decision you make has serious consequences - good and bad.

The only downside to this game is that it hasn’t been updated from the original version, which was made in the 80s(?). So don’t expect smartphones, social media and LGBTQ or storylines of anything other building a story of a white middle-class American of that time. But this is still a beautiful and addictive game, that’s simple to play yet deviously complex.

A feature that I would welcome is the ability to export your life’s events as a text file.

I used to play this online for hours at a time some years back. I don't know what made it pop back into my head and Google it, but I'm glad that I did. It's a fun game that makes you think about the choices you make in your own life too. Very happy to have rediscovered it in this form.

Loved this game as a child on the PC and was so happy to find it on iOS. 

The choices you make do have an impact on your in game life, such as choosing to be untrustworthy earlier in life makes it harder to do certain things later on in life. 

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

Well made, although decisions have virtually no impact on your life aside from the random death sequences, or perhaps this became a consequence of my ability to maintain a well balanced character - or that is what has been made apparent due to the lack of influence my actions have upon the storyline of the game? 

Although there is some replayability, the story ends up being more or less the same as the first playing, unless you abruptly die.

The idea of a text based Sims style game intrigued me but, overall I was very disappointed with this.  The game does give you some interesting descisions to make, yet thay have very little impact on your characters life.  It ends up becoming boring and no fun whatsoever.

Its way over-priced at£2.99 as well.

An incredible game, the only improvements I can think of are that instructions might be helpful for people. Possibly for updates you could add more events so people can continue playing over and over, it's expensive so it should keep being improved to make it worth the price. I don't regret buying it though, I feel it was money well spent.
