Animated Knots by Grog

I constantly come back to this application whenever I’m looking for a quick refresher on how to tie a knot or to find a new one to learn! It has the easiest and cleanest format for learning! I’m so happy they keep adding new materials and also include knot history and use information.

Great App - 4/5 because there is no Kalmyk knot. I’m willing to change my review to 5/5 if that gets added

Clear and concise; extremely user friendly. Assumes user is new to knots but not stupid. Worth every penny.

This is by far the most clear and comprehensive collection of knots available in app form. I’ve been using it for years, and have installed it on every device I’ve owned. If you want to learn knots, you’ve come to the right place.

This app is the best step-by-step knot tying app I’ve ever seen, and I’ve tried a lot. If you are a beginner or an experienced knot tier in need of refreshing, this app will do it. No sponsored hack here, just an impressed user. Get it. You will like it.

I regularly teach knot tying and line handling to recreational boaters with the United States Power Squadron. This app and its associated website are comprehensive, elegant, clear, and suitable for right- or left-handed (with the well-placed toggle). Users can vary the playing speed and pause on a particular step. The use of contrasting colored line and, where appropriate, line of different diameters, further enhances the utility. The terminology section contains just enough detail to be comprehensive with being overwhelming. This should win every award for app design! Bravo Zulu!!

I don’t sail as much as I used to, but I come back to this app every couple of months and, with a cocktail, I review all of the ones that I’ve ever used. You never know when they’re gonna’ be helpful!
